Although Judge is not exactly lighting up the league, he no doubt has the tools and potential where his pedestrian AAA "stats" are kinda like being in a holding pattern as he just might be one of those young type of players who DOES need to make all of the "usual" steps and progressions through a minor league system. 111AB, .252BA, 3HR, .338OBP, .387 SLG% (◀is surprisingly "low"). .726 OPS. Also has 30 Ks (AAA) and from what I've seen in ST, and these AAA- AA numbers (AA,70 Ks in 250 AB) - I think - imo - he will, should have "alot " of Ks attached to his future "offensive" stats. Nobody is perfect. Gary Sanchez- promoted to AAA after batting .262, 12 HR, .795 OPS in 233AB at AA... AAA 15G, 49AB- .327 BA, 424 OBP, .633 SLG%, 1.056 OPS Has thrown out 31% sb/att but this kid's value and ML ticket is his BAT. He's 22 yrs old and the Yanks promoting him to AAA at this time is a good move. They want to see how he handles AAA and if he continues to hit well with good power, there isn't much left for him to prove or accomplish in the minors. Yanks set at C with McCann and Murphy, I don't see Sanchez as a backup catcher, I wonder if they'll show him a 1b mitt or convert to another position, or, he could be a pretty darn good trade chip- but I think the Yanks would like to KEEP a good young hitter. We'll see how he continues at AAA. Greg Bird - 103AB, 4 HR, .282BA, .345OBP, 456 SLG%, .801OPS His HR total could be better but nonetheless, he has good offensive numbers. Refsnyder- 360AB, .281BA, 7HR, a very good .369 OBP, .772 OPS. He remains a good offensive player especially for a 2b which brings us to the issue/situation of his defense. He's made 17 errors so far....I haven't been "watching" him play on a regular basis but I believe the Yanks have to be thinking he's just not ready and steady enough on defense to be the "regular" 2b in a pennant race. This is the quandary with Refsnyder and CASHMAN......for those who want him promoted and put at 2b - including ME - is he more of a liability and harmful to the team with his glove than what the Yanks are going with?....As they continue to be in pretty good shape thus far in the division race?
