Two of the biggest national workers unions in the US are hoping to adopt the athletes of the UFC: UNITE HERE and The International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The Mixed Martial Arts Fighters Association (MMAFA), such as it is, has other offers on the table as well.

UNITE HERE is the parent union of the Las Vegas Culinary Workers Union 226 who have had a contentious relationship with UFC/Zuffa owners Lorenzo & Frank Fertitta, having been rebuffed in their efforts to bring Station Casinos workers into the fold.

The UFC sent out this memo to fighters warning them that UNITE and the IBT are bad, m'kay?
