This doesn't look like a good matchup for Yanks - Dickey has been doing his thing, over his last four starts - averaging over 7 IP per start and not allowed more than 2 runs in a game. Eovaldi gives up alot of hits....and the Jays have been mashing and I think they have homered in every game but one after the All Star break. Two things come to mind to help Yanks chances: Maybe Dickey is due for somewhat of a letdown game, but I won't bet on it. Maybe Eovaldi surprises us with an exception game of 6 innings. And relevant to this game and post - speaking of Eovaldi and possibly giving us 6 exceptional innings...... and ONE meltdown and JUNE..... Something along the lines of what CC provided yesterday would be nice- 6 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 8K (struck out Ortiz with loaded bases on two great curveballs and a 94 mph fastball) with the game on the line - close to vintage CC "stuff" helping the Yanks win 2-1 to hold the current lead. Big at bat in the rubber game vs a last place team vs a good dangerous hitter who already beat them the previous day with a HOME RUN. What have you done for me lately? Show some balls....that's what Eovaldi can do tonight. .....ah, what the heck- let's continue with meltdowns just for laughs, - take away two meltdowns for CC - one of which wasn't half as bad as Eovaldi's Miami meltdown - and he has a 4.07 ERA since June. Where's the cherry picker Patrol? GO YANKS! Big Game tonight.
Sorry Rick...Girardi is to Pasta what Drew is to you. We've all got a hate crush on someone. Play ball!
Okay let me put it this way, when it comes to Drew I believe I speak for anyone who knows anything about the game.
It seems like every once in awhile i have to remind you geezers , I don't hate girardi!!!!! I believe there is more to coaching then standing on the top step, acting as if his first born child is taking his first step.
Would you feel better if he sat on the bench instead? I mean it's like saying all an NHL coach does it stand behind the bench.
I know, what the hell was Beane thinking? Eovaldi with 33 1st inning pitches is not long for this game.
Lol!!!!! Yes I would, as a matter of fact, he should fall asleep like torre used too, then like kids do to a babysitter, RUN amok
#30 for Tex ties it at 1-1. With that homer the Yankees tie their homer total from all of last season.
The outfielders glove was at the top of the wall, it was clearly over the wall otherwise he would have caught it.
Yep, that was a head scratcher. Only explanation why it took so long is the replay guy in NY was taking a long shit.
Cone I'm begging you, please STFU. The Yankees really need to get this guy out of the booth. Though his early season gem of "And Gardner slides into third with a stand up triple". will always be my favorite you know he's good for AT LEAST one good dumb statement a game. Tonight we've heard, "A lead off hitter only leads off an inning once a game" & Bautista's 234 batting average is deceiving because he's walked 71 times already". Wait................what?
