This team, and excuse me for sounding melodramatic, I think is like no other team in the league that I can remember. If it reminds me of another team it's the pre-CP=trade Clippers and let me ask you something who would you rather have, CP or Eric Bledsoe? What I'm telling you and I think i deserve credit for calling it first, is that this team is one fine team. I think it has talent all-aound that is undeniable even if the way it was assembled was unorthodox. I think if you look at the players and talent we have, we could be great even now. I think it's gonna be an unbelievable ride next season, maybe like every season, but I think this team is gonna be different in many ways. I'm looking forward to it.
I'm really excited to watch this come together. It's hard to grasp just how Stotts will rotate this roster. If the Blazers ever felt like the underdog...this is the season. We definitely have the element of surprise because NO team has scouted us enough to know anymore than we do.
You don't deserve credit for calling it first, because you're not the first person in this forum to state that this team could be decent this year. It all depends on three things: A) Whether several of our young players can perform in expanded roles in a manner similarly to how they performed last year in limited roles; B) How well Stotts can modify his schemes to make use of the various skill sets we now have, and; C) How quickly the various recent auditions can develop chemistry with one another, and with the holdovers from last year.
I am hoping for a pleasant surprise. If one of our players punched out Lamarcus, I'd definately watch more. Put a bounty on him whenever he touches the ball. Hell. It worked in the ABA.
BS team?! Yeah this comment has weight coming from the guy that screamed we made a huge mistake for giving away our superstar T-rob! Lol
The refs will decide whether we win or lose, based on their collective view of us. Are we too young to get respect and calls? On a level playing field we have speed and athleticism over most teams, good coaches, and a little short on experience. 2-4 newbies need to step up as closers.
I can't wait for the new season. In playoffs, we were at our best when CJ and Leonard were on the floor. They're still here. Let's go Blazers!!
You can talk me into 15 wins or 45 wins, we can be anywhere in that range and it wouldn't surprise me. To many unknowns to give a solid prediction but I think we will be better then most NBA media people think we will be.
The Blazers don't lack talent, they lack experience and experience is what wins in the NBA. What's great is that Olshey has assembled a bunch of good young players on very reasonable contracts while keeping a ton of cap space. He's ideally poised for a big unbalanced trade when the opportunity arises.
We are headed to the top of the draft the next two years, accumulating talent and getting low-cost guys like Harkless and seeing if maybe they just needed a change of scenery. Whoever proves they can succeed here will stay or be used as a trade chip down the road. If everything goes according to plan, we might be real contenders in three years, a step ahead of the 2014-15 team, which was kind of at an evolutionary dead end.
