1 year deal.... Bye Dom Moore?

This move is sort of confusing? I guess they can always waive him without penalty if it doesn't work out. But I don't see that because the guy has won 2 cups and is cheap enough where he can be a healthy scratch from time to time....

Some are speculating that they will move Hayes to wing... Still really isn't a 3rd line center, neither is Moore.... What about Lindberg? Does this set up a trade for Glass?

    And does blow.

Stoll, 6-2 and 213 lbs, has won 55% of the faceoffs in his career. He averages 178 hits per season.

Worth a chance i guess but i hope it dosen't continue holding back Lindberg. I thought Stoll was facing legal issues?

Low risk move, if he doesn't impress in camp he goes down or is waived. Don't really see any downside here, am I missing something.

Sometime these kids of guys (if truly clean) have something to prove, the guy did have almost 70 points once....

I think Dom Moore has a no trade clause in the second (this year of his deal).. I hope they don't swap out Moore. I don't mind Stoll I just don't see where he fits... Maybe they move Lindberg to wing..

It's always a possibility that maybe Stalberg won't work out too

Great move. Size, faceoffs and right shot. 3 needs with one guy.

Will be interesting to see where he fits. He was 3C for the Kings on 2 cup teams, could we see him there and Hayes on a wing with Stepan and Kreider? Or he could be a bottom 6 forward and take some spot face-offs. Lots of versatility here.

I dont think he's bumping Moore out of the 4th C spot, Moore is tailor made for that role and has very little wing experience.

I guess they like bringing in coke-heads to this organization.

I don't see how bringing in a coke head with so many young players is a good move on paper. That and the fact his production has completely sucked for years now. Other than draws which he is declining on, I see no reason for this. It's just another move to screw Lindberg over as far as I'm concerned.

yea this move is interesting. Malone signed a 2 way deal. Stoll signed a 1 way deal

On the coke issue, he was able to plead it out to a misdemeanor and, from what I can tell, was not ordered into any substance abuse program. That to me does not sound like a coke-head, it sounds like a guy who made a mistake on a night out in Vegas. Coke-heads with serious problems dont get out of things like that so easily. Unless you guys have some other info on the subject that isn't publicly available.

On faceoffs, before last season he was one of the best in the entire league, and had been for years. There's been post after post after post about how big of a problem faceoffs were. How is this not a good thing? Of course he's not a perfect player, if he was we wouldnt be able to sign him for 1 year, 800k. He fills a huge need.

On the 2 way issue, it really doesnt matter for a team like the Rangers who can afford to pay guys full salary in the minors. My guess is that Ryan Malone had zero suitors and was at the end of his career. Stoll, from what I'm seeing, had some offers. Wouldnt make sense for him to take a 2 way from us and then risk getting half salary or less in the AHL while he has full salary 1 way deals on the table. We can still send him down (if he's not claimed on waivers) and get his whole hit off the books if he doesnt make the team.

Let's just see how it plays out. For all we know this could, finally, be the end of Tanner Glass.

This does not solve our faceoff problem. Moore is now better on faceoffs than he is. Stoll is not a 3rd line player. He's barely a 4th line player. So basically the only one who can win a draw on this team over 50% of the time is a 4th line center. Doesn't change the other 3 lines.

Hopefully not, but maybe there is more concern about Zucc that we have heard. Obviously Stoll is not a replacement for Zucc, but maybe they see Hayes up there and Stoll to replace Hayes on the third line.

Maybe I missed it, but haven't really heard any kind of "Zucc will be 100% for camp" kind of thing from the NYR, just heard that he played in a charity thing....

Perhaps Stoll wanted also to play in a big city since Andrews is probably (free)based near one.lol Hey if it helps also get rid of Glass which will still be hard to move, even better. If it was any more than 1m it probably wouldn't be worth trying, i just hope Lindberg finds a spot, maybe at W for this year. Lot's of positional sorting to do.

So in that case, we just signed somebody to fill Brian Boyle's role which was vacant for a whole year. 4th line C/wing hybrid who kills penalties very well and is great in the circle. Again, why is that a bad thing?

Coke Head? I have said this before and since we're talking Ranger Coke Heads, the biggest Coke Head of them all was Mark Messier.
He was caught by my buddy in the bathroom of the Auction House on the upper East Side. That stuff does nothing for me but he was
an OK player for us even if he was flying high.
