ehhh you can't start Davis and Plumlee together. You need at least 1 shooting big man in the starting group.
Over here in Germany, I can do whatever I want, didn't know that was differnt in the US No honestly, you're right, so I correct myself: Henderson and Meyers will start at the beginning of the season.
Dame Hendo Aminu Nards Plums Frazer CJ Crabbe Von Ed the way I see it I would rather get a better backup pg but with what we have yea... you go this route and with the starting line and second rotation, you have a guy at pf that can stretch the floor with the threat of a 3. and still have more of a banger chillin down low to feast on the put backs and hopefully lobs! also see lots of drives and kicks to the corners, and ball swings to corners. (cause that's the only place hendo and aminu seem to hit from) is it a bad idea to (outside of dame) try the platoon swap game plan this year? with how young most everyone is and how close the competition is why not? do that for like 20-30 games at least and see who stands out. then start dialing in who gets more min and where.
Created (most of) our team on whatifsports.com (using last year's version of each of our guys, except using rookie Sergio in place of Frazier who doesn't exist on that site), and they are actually not simulating all that poorly. Even got a sim-win against the '96 Bulls (on my 6th try). I'm tempted to run them through our last years' schedule just to see how they finish.
unless stotts has a major change of heart by season's start, we'll be seeing cj at point. he's said so many times. vonleh will definitely see minutes this season. we don't have enough bodies for him not to.
PG: Damian Lillard SG: Gerald Henderson SF: Al-Faroque Aminu PF: Noah Vonleh C: Mason Plumlee 2 Unit: PG: Tim Frazier SG: CJ McCollum SF: Allen Crabbe PF: Ed Davis C: Meyers Leonard Others: Chris Kaman Maurice Harkless Pat Connaughton
I watch video on these new guys today and everyone believe that plumlee and Davis can't play together I say they can. Last year we had 3pt shooters but Lopez and LA was playing high post an low post most of the time. I am saying plumlee and Davis can do the same thing but we would have bigger threat at the high post. No we won't have LA mid range jumper but both of these guys might be better at the low post then LA.
1) I agree. However, there is still the question of whether Aminu, Davis, and Plumlee can all play together. 2) Dame CJ (been singled out by both NO and Stotts) Aminu Biebs Plumlee though Davis may certainly start over Biebs, but shooting would be a real issue. 3) I'm answering "opening night" lineup. I think the starting lineup will change throughout the year - even without injuries, similar to the bench lineup last year. #Stottsbebrewing 4) Another interesting question would be game ending lineup: Dame CJ Crabbe Aminu Biebs (or Davis) Very possible that we end games by going small with shooters and Aminu at the 4.
I was thinking the different for the end of games. Thinking we will probably have a lock down D in there instead of a primarily offensive lineup. At this point in the roster, it seems our D should be a bit better than our O, and so I am thinking we might go with the D at the end.
easy prediction: there will be many different starting lineups as Stotts experiments with all the new guys and who fits best with each other and who earns it
Agree, this would also be my "guess" for the starting 5 at the beginning of the season. Stotts starts the season with known proven players over higher potential project players. (Henderson over CJ, & Aminu over Crabbe) There is going to be several interesting battles for playing time. How the minutes play out by the end of the season is anyone's guess. The CJ /Henderson SG minutes battle will be fun to watch. Now that Stotts has both Frazier and Pressey battling for BUPG minutes, CJ is probably going to lose his BUPG minutes, which puts more pressure on the CJ/Hendo battle. I can not even begin to guess how the minutes battle will play out for the bigs.
