Francis? Okay Erkle. ;) LMAO. I said right off I am completely lightened up kiddo.

MM basically called me a Nazi, or insinuated and I told him how I felt about it and moved on. This is what adults do.

HCP came on here after a lengthy break and started bashing newbies left and right. I told him what I thought and am now moving on. Deal with it. :)

With HCP, it's a case of mistaken identities.
He thinks he's the Fonz from Happy Days hanging with the nerds.
In reality, he's more like a cross of Biff from Back to the Future and Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation.

But his wife is very friendly. ;)

People are still getting upset over HCP's antics?

He's a cool guy once you get to know him and he brings much needed levity to this forum.

When seeking to "move on", adults generally handle their confrontations in private (ie, via PM). When you call someone out in an open forum, you are inviting perpetuation and further commentary, whether in agreement and opposition.

It is actually quite arrogant, as well as in contrast to the basic tenets of a message board, to suggest that someone should not comment on something that you yourself put out in the open.

Hmmm, when did I insinuate that no comment should be made? Its about how you comment.

I don't quite get your opinion on going private though. My experience is that it doesn't solve anything because most are very immature, feel singled out, insinuate some sort of stalking mentality, etc., though I must admit I haven't tried here, cause MM and I seemed to be able to work it out on the message board in a fairly mature fashion I thought.
Second, I didn't call anyone out. I merely defended all the "Newbies" that HCP was calling out and then tried to move on, but some don't see that apparently.
Its all good, I don't honestly care enough to get bent or anything, I was just pointing out a bit of hypocrisy.

All I was trying to point out is its pretty much foolish for an old vet to come on here and blast a bunch of newbies who don't know who he is and then say to lighten up by further insulting them as if its all fun. Most newbies don't know him or what he is about. I have read him and so I understand, but most don't. I was simply trying to open some old vets eyes to how so many new viewers might be reading him. Take it for what you will. :)

In the end I see HCP as very bipolar. Either posts a very high integrity post with great info, or just trolls to start shit. I don't mind either way. Was just kinda pointing it out for many new people...obviously in a poor way.

Interesting paradox. If vets blast newbs for posting like vets, why would they care what a newb says about how some vets' posts look to newbs?

I would like to think the vets have more common sense?

Or maybe the vets don't want any new members around and are cool stroking each other in the corner without a disturbance?
Anything can be a paradox depending on how you spin it. :)

Listen, anyone can act the way they want, but one must realize the perception being provided.

This site is for Blazer fans to congregate and discuss, but if you alienate the new members, this site will run dry. A BUNCH of new members just joined over the last 6 months 2 a year. They are all Blazers fans for longer than their membership here I could only imagine, so most of us don't feel "New", but hell we could just go to another site or just stop coming here and the stroking can continue uninterrupted. :)

Comes down to mutual respect is all I suppose. Some have it some don't.

There's two sides to all coins. For the moment I'm sticking up for the tail that the head seems insistent on insulting.

Those of us with common sense (the majority) don't need the perspective. Those who might need the perspective don't care.

You're casting your pearls before swine.

He's done that to every poster on the forum, I got upset 2 years ago when I switched from trailblazerfan.com to RC2 then realized it's been a long hazing practice around here...don't take it personally Orion, just understand he's trying to get new guys to wear the pink Hello Kitty backback when they show up. HCP stands for hispanic causing panic but if you don't know Big John by now...he's the guy they keep in a metal box at games to compile video for the team. Used to have a show Road Trippin' with Big John and was a regular on just Casey.

So be it. Not all old dogs can learn new tricks... (Except Sly).

Cool, good accomplishments (Not the Hello Kitty bit). I'm just the type that the more I accomplish the humbler I become I suppose, not the opposite. :)
Must be why I'm such a loudmouth still. ;)

This thread has lead to an interesting discussion.

This forum is a community and new members are welcome and needed. Just the fact that a longtime member like HCP has noticed the new members is a compliment to their presence here and the opinions and perspectives that they bring.

And trust me Orion, HCP gave me shit when I first started posting here, in a few months when he goes on his next rookie rant you will laugh at it and tell the rooks to not worry about it.

Also what no one has told you is that Mrs HCP gives members a special present for their 1000th post which is the real reason why HCP hates forum noobs.

Me also being a noob, HCP's first post when he returned momentarily raised my hackles, but fortunately my son (one of the longer time members of this site) gave me pretty much the exact explanation that riverman just gave. Sounds like, between the bullshit and teasing, he has some decent insights. I look forward to those, along with some good laughs.

Don't worry about the Hispanic Chicken Pox. He's the forum Jester that razzes the noobs. It's actually pretty funny how everyone falls for his trolling. He even razzed me when I first came here, but my greatness was too much for him, and he now mows my lawn.
