I pay an additional monthly fee to my cable company of $14.95 to have a computer tech take over my system from time to time to clean it out & fix any problems I may be having. Last week I had them do this but they completely screwed my computer up telling me that I now need to re-install windows 7. Yeah, like I can do that. Anyway because of this problem it takes forever to connect to the internet. I'm talking hours & sometimes like yesterday (no lineup given) a complete shutdown. My local staples can fix the problem & re-install windows 7 for a fee of $240.00 but all my go to sites will be wiped out. They told me to copy everything to a disc. Yeah like I can do that. So, I got lucky to get on this morning but I seriously don't know how long it will last. I'm letting you guys know this so if you don't see me for a while that I'm okay & that I'll return when I can either afford to have it fixed or just get a new computer. Hopefully this damn computer will stay alive long enough today for me to post a lineup & be a part of posting during today's game. If not......well you'll know why.
Yeah sounds like everything needs to be saved on an external drive. Then take everything off including the loads of unnecessary stuff and malware you likely have on your computer. Then you reinstall everything.
When it to me & computers you have to think that I'm from Missouri, what's a gmail? And I guess if I have to ask, I don't have it.
just go to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\ ...and copy the folderfolder Alternatively if you have another device like a smartphone or tablet, all your settings should be synched when signing into Google.

Rick, do you have a 'Best Buy' around or near...? I've used the Geek Squad at times, and their not that expensive. My Son had a similar prob, and needed W8.1 reinstalled on his computer, lost almost everything, not once but twice. 1st incident cost him approximately $45; the 2nd cost him $00000.- On the 2nd incident, he had switched from IE to Google Chrome, and; If I'm not mistaken, Google Chrome keeps a backup of all your files, IF you use their browser..... at least that's what I witnessed with his melt down..... Me, I prefer Firefox, always have, despised IE like a plaque. (Microsoft can't release any product "Complete", every damn Operating System MS kicks out is always incomplete. While one waits years later for their Service Packs, to complete their software programs...... PS: Fk Bill Gates......
Sure I finally get back on after the damn game is over. Don't know how long it will last though. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I'll look into them.
Yep, Mozilla....... I have Google Chrome as well, and don't mind it, in fact I do believe its the #1 Browser. I enjoy new technologies, but, ...... like alot of Old Timers, were creatures of habit......but hey, I did remove IE, when I got this PC...... Heck only 2 years ago, I was still using dial up modems, and tin cans with strings for phones........ (seriously on the modem, not really by choice at that time)......!
This is amazing, right now its working great but I know at anytime it'll freeze up & I'll have to reboot the damn thing 1/2 dozen to a dozen times before I can get it back again. and sometimes It'll only last for 10-15 minutes before its rebooting time all over again. Its really frustrating.
