WOW.....!!! Thanks Rick, if anyone would know, it would be you, Mr. Stat King himself. Like Al Rosen of baseball cards, aka "Mr. Mint", both worthy titles...........
I do too, he doesn't quit have the Mattingly Crouching Tiger look to me, and Yes, He does swing, and hold himself at the plate a heckuva lot like Paul..........
WTF happened to EO. Talk about death by a thousand cuts or in this case one cheap dick hit or roller after another. Christ, how unlucky can you get
2 on the day for Bird, WOW...........damn am I glad Trashman did NOT trade Bird or Seve away, now this IS how you build a Team, from the ground up, with a FA or 2, to round out a staff/roster....... Now if we can just get rid of the dead weight contracts, and send Trashman back to school, on how to build an Org.
Give Bird a Standing O, on his next plate appearance, or maybe not, otherwise the distraction may be too much.........Bird definitely deserves one.........
While I love Bird so far I also remember Kevin Maas. So I keep my expectation in check with such a small sample size.
Good Point, Maas was exciting no doubt, but with both knees with braces, I never had expectations of Him sticking around for long........
Pasqua disappointed everyone.... Buhner proved to be a legit force to be reckoned with...... Pagliarulo, was a helluva mud shark at Thunder Alley........ Spencer, I expected to see for a decade, but did not seem to catch on...... then we got Hensley Bam Bam Meulens, IMO, one of the biggest over rate Prospect Flops, the Yanx have ever seen other than Brien Taylor...... anyone recollect this: ???? http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_...ew-york-yankees-prospect-facing-40-years-jail
Saw Bird being interviewed post game by Kenney, Sherman, and Rosenthal. Kid showed respect for his team mates and situation. When Sherman (poor attempt at beard) asked how he was read Bird replied "I've ve worked for this and keep it simple. Bird and Sevey give us reason to think there is a future. Always seeing other teams give their kids a chance, nice to see the Yankees doing so.
Well from here we have the Indians coming in for the next 4 games followed by 3 with the Astros. While the Blue Jays after tonight (Phillies) stay on the road for 3 with the Angels followed by 3 with the Rangers.
I don't think we'll see much from Philly. The Angels will try, they are still in the race. Yankees need to take care of their own business. I'd be willing to bet that the older players see Bird and Sevey as a pleasant infusion of fresh blood. Hopefully we'll see Judge in the September call ups.
