more leadership in 1 interview than lamarsha ever had. kind of worried he picked up the "you knows" from "you know" who though
I noticed a lot of players saying that in interviews last season...even Olshey and Stotts used it. I think Lamarcus was trying to fit in and use it but couldn't pull it off and felt he needed to practice it you know? Olshey's habit is to start every answer with .Look....
ty for the link. the take away from this interview is dame is worth every penny of his contract not only for his skill level but also his maturity , humility and ability to articulate that in this prima donna world of professional atheletes. I am confident this will translate in his role as the teams leader and holding others to the work ethic and professional standards that he has set for and achieved for himself. the franchise seems to be in very good hands.
In all of my years as a Blazer fan, Damian is the greatest spokesman for the team I can remember. He's the real deal!
especially enjoyed his accepting, hell, embracing the roll and responsibility of making his new teammates better
ANd the radio guys had some damn good questions to ask too... Loved hearing dame talk about why he said no to any player option/opt out clause...
I've gotta say every radio broadcast I've heard from Utah has been top shelf..great questions and no bullshit. The Jazz have a great radio broadcast team. They seem to call games both ways and enjoy good play from the road team as well as the home team.
When I'm watching an archived game and am looking for a good broadcast team, I usually will go with the Jazz as one of my top choices.
Awesome interview. If anyone thinks that it's not a better idea to build around Dame than that Texas Turncoat they are a fool.
Eventually players will come to recognize that small market or not..Dame is a pt guard they'll want to play with and Portland is a culture they'll thrive in
