It is, but only because our vote-counting system is severely flawed. People fear "throwing their vote away" on third-party candidates, because they know that doing so essentially equates to voting for the guy you hate the most.

If we had a system that allowed us to rank all candidates based on our preference rather than only selecting one, then eliminating candidates one-by-one American Idol-style based on lowest top-preference total, allowing votes for eliminated candidates to filter down to next-highest preference, then people would no longer be beholden to the two-party system and would be able to vote for fringe candidates without having to worry about their vote being pointless.

The Reserve originally pushed by the Hamilton a Whig (democrats today) , scrapped by Jackson (democrat by name then but Republican of today) , and reborn in todays configuration by Wilson (D). Not a damn thing in the Constitution supporting this institution, but since there is no value like gold or silver supporting the value of the dollar, how else are you going to maintain the dollar? It scares the hell out of me to think the political parties would have a go at it every 4 or 8 years. It would have been the final tool Obama needed to completely wreck this nation.

And Bush didn't do that when we were losing 750k jobs per month at the end of his term? It's funny how right wingers conveniently forget that. Now our job growth is doing this but"Conservatives" will say that it's not happening fast enough...

The inertia in Washington DC takes about 20 years to finish an argument about anything. This is why the job rarely attracts talent

Actually Bush did try to reel in Freddy and Fanny and all those wild ass loans that were going out, but Congress was not supportive. As you recall that finally did bring the house down.
I never did understand how the hell Congress expected the Federal Reserve to do there job in maintaining the value of the dollar. They gather (or the did) much data via the banks to monitor
and control the flow of money to maintain the dollar. No way can this work while Congress through Freddy and Fanny hand out money to anyone with a hand out. It definitely was a case of one hand not know what the other hand was doing. Bush didn't get it stopped and bad on him but I am not here to defend him. When I speak of Obama wrecking this Nation, I now think that is exactly
what he had in mind by "Fundamentally changing this Nation." I don't think he is done yet either, more to come and the dumb ass Republicans will just watch and bitch a little.

Simply blaming Fanny and freddie doesn't tell the whole story and you know it. I was a loan officer in 2006. I knew then those ARMs and Stated Income loans were bad. 0% financing with a 620 credit rating? That was the problem. Not just F&F.

You should too. Our market is trading at RECORD levels but... He had nothing to do with that.
My son and I have affordable healthcare now... he had nothing to do with that
We went from LOSING 750,000 jobs per month to creating 250,000 per... he had nothing to do with that...

Has he done some things that I don't agree with? Sure. But on the whole he has been a solid president.

Thanks for proving my point. Like I said, the democrats will die in flames before they admit that Obama ruined this country.

More troubling numbers, which has been led by the Obama Administration...

    321,550,554 US Population:

    Living in poverty: 43,821,128 (13%)
    Living without insurance: 40,749,457 (12.71%)

I thought every american was to receive healthcare?!

    http://www.politifact.com/ohio/stat...rcia-fudge-says-30-million-people-were-pover/

30 million people were in poverty when Bush left office. Since Obama became president, 13 million more americans went to poverty.

When Bush left office, 46.3 million americans were without healthcare (terrible I know). After 2.5 trillion spent on Obamacare, 6 million more americans received healthcare. That's 1.8% increase. 2 trillion for 1.8% increase over 8 years. Sounds like a sure bet!

Funny thing... Obama spent the most money (increasing the debt) when he was president and there democrats controlled congress. The last 4 years, republicans controlled congress and the spending dropped in half. Weird huh?
