4% vs 33% is far more believable and just shows women are more intimidated in the wage negotiation process. Probably because they have no balls and Belong in the kitchen.

To rely on one news anchor for your news is beyond naive.

I can only say that the women I worked with in education in Oregon for 14 years were paid the going rate, same as me.

guess you missed the just kidding part of that but he was as public and trusted news figure as most newspapers or magazines have. He's also not the only one. News can be spun and has been...that's the opposite of naive..I worked in message processing during the Nixon administration and believe me...you can't always rely on information that is supposed to be coming from credible sources.

Of course, one should be skeptical of the information they receive from others. Research the given topic and hopefully find unbiased material without a political slant.

Oden playing in China has one drawback...I'll bet they don't have much of a team medical facility

Pffft, they'll build him new knees and stuff. They will be packaged in indestructible plastic that you need a ninja sword to open and a few pieces will be missing and the instructions won't make sense if there are any.

The knees will break right after the warranty expires but whadya gonna do?

Are you kidding? All a woman has to do is walk into a police station, say that you hit her, and guess what? You're in handcuffs.

In Washington, when the cops come on a domestic call someone is going to jail. If there are no witnesses they take the person with the least visible injuries.

The whole thing is a ridiculous joke.

No I'm not kidding. If he didn't do shit why did he settle? If he pleads guilty he should get WAY more than what he got...

You can't possibly be so naive to believe that innocent people/companies never settle. Not that I believe that Oden is innocent--I think he's absolutely guilty and deserves to be in jail. But your "if he didn't do it why did he settle" logic is severely flawed.

Fuck that. If I didn't do it I'm not paying her a FUCKING dime. Would you?

If I were rich and had the means to do so, and making it go away quietly would be less expensive (as well as less personally taxing) than going through a protracted trial, very possibly. I would at the very least consider all the pros and cons.

If I were rich, I would do the exact opposite. I'd pay my lawyer team to SCREW her ass for defamation. Fuck it. You're rich.

Think about it--if a trial were going on, he would have to stay in the states, meaning he wouldn't be able to go over to China to play ball. I'm willing to bet that his salary this year is going to be greater than the amount of any settlement he had to pay. Even if he's innocent, he comes out ahead by settling.

I'm sure he'd much rather his life and energy be focused on basketball than defending his innocence. I can understand that.
