The media is to be blamed for the most part here. They control what we see in the news, and they control what we learn about current events. I've completely lost faith in the news industry; every network tells you what they want you to hear. I blame the media, not the public. Someone gets screwed in every situation like this. Cell phones, extremely limited labour, and cable TV are given out of kindness, which makes zero sense. The rest of those are basic human necessities. We can't survive without living space, fresh air, and protection from extreme temperatures. The bigger problem is that the justice system is screwed. Cops are arresting people for tiny things and it's coming out of our wallets. Back to guns, The issue of firearms will be a never-ending debate. We live in a world where owning a gun is becoming more and more of a necessity rather than an option. We live in a world where our neighbor could be out to kill us. (Highly unlikely, but yes, it's possible.) We don't need reform concerning owning weapons, we need reform on educating people. If gunstore owners are better educated, we'll see a decrease in the amount of guns falling into the wrong hands. If gun owners are educated, we'll see a decrease in gun accidents. This has to work both ways. The reason we're stuck is because our government (GOP and Dems) are too busy arguing and too stubborn to fix our issues. This issue has become more than a gun issue, more than a government issue, but an American issue. Every other developed nation has a plan concerning guns; some have banned them entirely, some have allowed them and restricted certain things. BOTH methods have worked, and we have to decide what nation we're going to be, because if we don't change, we won't progress. *stretches his tired fingers*
Unfortunately, the slightest mention of any plan concerning guns makes segments of the population overreact as if somebody was going to steal their first born child.
...not sure if you're talking about hand guns only or all weapons but for me, taking away one of my guaranteed rights is like stealing my first born child. ...the problem with any "plan" I've ever heard of, is that there's no real and equitable way to enforce it throughout the population, including criminals.
You got that all wrong Mess. Those folks, including me, flat out reject the premise that "any plan" should include limiting an enumerated right. Any plan better start with enforcing the laws on the books. And if that's so freaking hard, I'm happy to remove the more restrictive ones. We don't need gun reform, we need law enforcement. Same with the border, we don't need immigration reform...we need law enforcement. There is no govt action related to guns, compliant with the 2nd Amendment, that will reduce violence. As 59 says, what needs reforming is society - its got to get back in line with the Constitution. Because that "overreaction" is the only thing saving you from socialist and tyranny. MOLON LABE
Sadly, the country went to crap a long time ago. The entire we don't make anything anymore was used by people as a punch line until the severity of the loss of a slew of manufacturing jobs starting hitting home. Do people now think Ross Perot was wrong almost 25 years ago when he was preaching for us to stop sending jobs overseas? Socialism and tyranny? You lived it with the absolute murder the banks got away with in causing and then coming out of the great recession. They were made whole and then some using out tax dollars. Then their company line is well we paid that money back. Yeah of course you did. Right after being made whole again and then some you went into the foreclosure business (fraudulently in many cases) and tossed million of people out of their homes. The same people's whose tax dollars you took to pay off the trillions you were holding in bad paper. Sadly, I didn't see any well armed militia stopping the biggest ass raping of American Citizens in history. We all bent over and took it from the government like we always do. And if it happened again we would bend over again and rinse and repeat. When it comes to guns for personal protection sure. If you're an avid hunter sure. If you just like to go the range or target shoot sure. If you like collecting certain guns sure. Etc...Etc..Etc..Etc... When it comes to the talk about having weapons to save us from an oppressive, socialist and tyrannical government. I ask where have they been the last eight years?
...^^^ believe it or not there are more and more "cells" secretly popping up all over the country. They are organized and very well armed. ...It's been proven over and over throughout history and nature too for that matter, that you can only push an animal or human into a corner to where they have no other recourse than to fight. ...I really do believe there is an "uprising" in our future...I don't know if it will be in my lifetime or not but I do believe it is only a matter of time.
I believe it's going to be necessary. I don't see how things can continue down the same path for much longer.
Look for the signs. Gadsen flags, oath keeper symbols, and the phrase Molon Labe. They are everywhere, and these are typically some very serious people. 3%.....is all its gonna take. There will be a tipping point and many will join the few that start the wheels in motion. As for all the bad loans, I'm sure some good folks got hurt. But when I had a neighbor that ran a pool cleaning service and his wife earned min wage part time...sell their 350k townhomes and by a 600k house plus lease a Lexus and Mercedes...I didn't feel too bad for them when they got crushed. I saw hundreds of examples of that in that neighborhood. People took way too much risk, and I don't blame banks - I blame the idiots that spent money they didn't have. Until we realize this culture breeds mental illness, shit like this will keep happening. Those pesky 4th and 5th Amendments also lead to folks getting killed as well.
The guy was a real nut job. I was reading that he thought everything was racist and a plot against him. He was angry at the female reporter because at one time she used the term out in the field. As in reporters out in the field covering stories. This nut ball took it to mean a racist term as in cotton fields.
Trump obviously has leadership qualities, gets things done and isn't afraid to call a "slug" a "slug". You might say he's the opposite of Prez Jimmy Carter.
