I'm agnostic but to many people group that together with being athiest. I just believe that you're supposed to make the most out of the life youre given and the afterlife is totally separate. I respect anyone and their views until they try to convince you that your beliefs are incorrect or belittle you because of your views.
Yeah lots of people say that I should call myself agnostic since I don't claim to know that there is no god, but that's just not how I see it. I think if I go through life not believing in a god, then I'm an atheist. I don't really care what other people want to label me. I will admit that a few years ago I would argue with religious folk a lot, trying to somehow convince them that my view was better than theirs. I haven't done that for a while now though. I'll still have discussions with friends that are religious, I just wouldn't call it arguing, and I respect most views as long as they don't harm people in some tangible way.
Actually, in all seriousness... I can truly understand why people don't believe in God. It's all good...
The conflict between Christians and atheists is silly. Christians reject all "gods" but one - and atheists reject one more. Big deal. I belong to the church of dyslexia - I prayed to "dog" and sold my soul to Santa.
