Am I the only one who finds calling up and extra 15 players totally ridiculous? You want to expand, go to 30-32 but 40 is a joke.

Rick, I always liked it when the Yankees, who use to show a lot of class, would bring up top prospects that had no chance of playing in the pennant race but the Yankees wanted them to taste the big league life and help prepare them for when their time to shine would come. I know they still do it to some degree, but we are trying to win a pennant. So in part the 8 they brought up all can serve a purpose in some minor way.

Frank I'd have no problem if they brought up ONLY 8 but to me 15 is just way to many.

...MB, that's exactly why I think the Yanx should bring Judge up...if nothing else, let him get a whiff of the big league experience. It does not matter that he's not "tearing it up" at SWB...Judge does not have to be an important addition to the Yanx' team in September...just to experience being around the big team and traveling with them, has got to be an incentive for him and the others to work even harder in order to be part of the team permanently.

...personally, I have no problem with the extra 15 players...it helps to give the other a rest.

}Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance forever and a day."

Yep, bring them up, put them in so they get the experience. Used to look forward to the September call ups to get a glance into the future.

With the Yankees now looking up & teams chasing them for the final playoff spot I really don't know how much time these call ups are actually going to see.

This is my take on Judge, just a feeling, but right after the Futures game he was out with what I believe was a back issue. I remember that there wasn't that much info being released, it felt odd that one of your biggest gems in the minors was getting no press in regards to the injury. But my point is this, Since he came back, he has been struggling which might indicate that he is keeping to himself (old School) that he isn't 100% or he needs the off season to get back to 100%

    Agree big time.
I think it could be an important part of a young minor league player's experience.
    Always remember Jeter mentioning it.

Cheer up Rick! It still feels good when you're "correct" or accurate - more so under those circumstances.

    Ever hear the expression: ?
Even a broken clock is right once a day

Evidently, there are posters who never know what time it is.
