Right now, who are the biggest candidates for the MVP award?I've got to say it's Kobe, Lebron, Nash, Dirk, and Duncan. Carmelo was a candidate, but he will miss 15 games atleast this season. That will hurt his chances. As of right now, I've got to give it to Kobe. The Lakers are doing really well this year. His ppg averages may be down, but that's because he's setting up his teammates more, and not taking as many shots. I like what he's been doing, and he's my MVP right now...Ah, forgot to mention that he is the best player in basketball right now. His defense is much better than most high scoring swingmen too.

This is like the 400th MVP topic in the last few weeks. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's nearly impossible to judge the MVP race before the All-Star break.

Nash, Duncan, Dirk, Wade, LeBron/Kobe, Boozer in that order right now. Boozer will fade and Kobe will move up I think. I don't see Nash winning it this year...

You have Kobe WAY too low. Duncan is only averaging 20 and 9. He's having one of the worst seasons of his career for the 2nd year straight...Nash won't win the MVP award 3 times straight. That's why I didn't have him down as #1. Dirk isn't having the year he had last season either, and the Cavs are inconsistent. The Heat are under .500 so I don't knw why you have Wade down as of now. These are the leaders of the season ended TODAY. Carlos Boozer isnt a big enough name to win it either.

Very surprised to se you say Nash is not going to win it! It is good to see a Suns fan notr being one eyed!

Look at all the other threads about the mvp and you will see each and everyone of them turns into a Steve Nash doesn't deserve 3 in a row debate.

Look at my sigNash will win it if the Suns win 55 games or moreOtherwise Wade will win it. Everyone is gonna remeber his Christmas matchup vs Kobe1) Nash2) Wade3) Lebron4) Carmelo/Ming (depends on which one bounces back the fastest)5) Kobe (16 points, horrible shooting percentage, on a highly anticipated national tv game)

Yeah, youre right. One game means that Kobe won't win MVP :rolleyes:Nash is having another great year, but I just don't think he'll win 3 straight...

How much of a retard can you be? I love you actually think that Nash can win it a third time in a row. It doesn't matter if he deserves it...he will NOT get it because the fact that he didn't deserve it last season and he won it twice in a row. Kobe will not win MVP because the media are the people that vote and they all hate Kobe with a passion.

Kobe goes down after ONE game?Wade won't win it because of the team he's on. IMO it comes down to LeBron, Howard (IMO the Magic would need the one seed for that to happen), Kobe, and Nash. The Lakers are doing very well and if they keep it up Kobe has a chance. The Suns would need a one seed and an AMAZING rest of the season from Nash. For him to win it that would have to happen, plus floppage from the rest of the candidates.

He's being less agressive, but he's showing he can pass the ball well. But whatever, he's still winning games, and thats huge for his MVP campaign.Nash is playing great, and I'd have to give it to him at this point in the season. He might not win it because of the 3 in a row crap, but whatever..I'd still give it to him. Yao is out the running, imo, he's out for 6-7 weeks, and we don't know how he'll rebound after he recovers. Carmelo could also be a top candidate, but we'll see how he comes back after the Iverson trade, and his suspension.

They are both going to miss games. Yao is injured for a while and isn't a leader.5. Did you know he is still not 100% healthy? and he had the FLU. There was no Lamar Odom. I dont care if you don't like Kobe but given him some damn respect. Yes Wade played good on Christmas day but the Heat don't even have a winning record so I doubt he will get it.

But Nash ain't gettin' it. IMO Nash will never be on the level as the past 3peat MVP Winners. And if you do win Im going to be the sig maker IF I am still around.

Obviously if they can win games without Kobe Bryant, that makes him not as valuable to his team as the other front runners are to their teams. I think it should be questioned about who has the biggest impact on his own team, because without Lamar Odom they are a .500 team going 4-4.

That was only because Lamar Odom was virtually averaging a triple double....
