This is an opinions and response thread. Be respectful. Will the Blazers come out on top on this rebuild? I believe they will. The whole NBA looks at the Blazers as a bad offseason because we traded Batum, lost Aldridge, Matthews, and Lopez in free agency. But with Neil Olshey's perspective this offseason, I grade the Blazers' offseason an "A". Build they team with young, athletic talent and still got a ton of money to work with. I would love replies to my opinion in a respectful way and to hear all of your opinions as well. Enjoy your day.
In this case grading the Blazers off season would be like grading someone on their first day of school. What has happened this off season won't be truly graded or judged until a few years from now. I do like the direction that Olshey is going in. He could have pieced together enough talent that we would be a 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. But we would never advance beyond that.
My peeve is people not respecting other people's opinions. This might be their dream, to talk NBA professionally, and to get bashed on with their posts can change their minds.
We have a strict no personal insult rule here. You can attack someone's post or opinion but not them personally. So your post might get bashed but you personally won't. Attacking, arguing, challenging a person's views and opinions are what makes forums fun. Nothing wrong with a little debate. Attacking, name calling, insulting someone personally is pure poison.

We are probably 4-5 years from getting back to the playoffs unless we get major guys in Free Agency which is kind of unlikely. If we tank and we get a future stud, that's probably our best hope but even from that point its a 3 year process. The only way we will get back on top is if we have a top 10 player in the league on our team and that is unlikely for the foreseeable future. To be a championship contender, we will need a top 5 player in the league on the team.
Welcome! Here is my opinion, you'll need thicker skin if you want to be a professional opinion giver :hugs:
Let the hazing commence! For real though, I think Olshey had a couple things up his sleeve we won't expect. And it's hard to tell how these players will develop. So I have no clue
I promise to be respectful.......... That said, I'm quite sure that EVERY GM thinks that EVERY rebuild will be successful. There is no way you can really have an idea until you see these guys on the floor. Looks to me like we have 1 maybe 2 actual NBA starter quality players on the roster. I see a bunch of fantastic bench players though. Not enough assets to make big moves on the trade front. Now I'm done being respectful......... Rookies aren't allowed to start threads until they have 250 posts! Read the rules!!!!!!
To contend we need a top 5 guy? I completely disagree. The Hawks were definitely contenders without a top 20 player on their team. One player doesn't make a contending squad.
That's not really a rule. You know the grumpy old man who yells at the kids to stay off his lawn? HCP is the one who mows it.
I'm talking about in general terms. I'm not sure the Hawks are a contender next year, its kinda a flukey thing that happens every once in a while
yeah but Dirk won a ring, he wasn't viewed as a top 5 or even 10 guy. The Spurs didn't have any top 10 guys in 2014 either.
