Who is your favorite Blazer that kinda got shafted by the Franchise for one reason or another?

Luke Babbitt. Just kind of tossed him to the side, he was a candidate for 6th Man of the Year!

No we wouldn't have. How old are you? I remember that time like it was yesterday. Drazen wanted to start and Adleman wanted him off the bench as a super sub with Danny Ainge. That was the big man era and Duck had an EFFECTIVE 1 handed jumper that kept big men away from the basket. Did we go small? Nope. We traded Petrovich.

From a referee's (not a Blazers fan's) perspective that tech was almost as bad as Joey Crawford T'ing up Duncan for clapping on the bench. He even broke a ref unspoken rule and says "WHACK" when he throws it. C'mon man! That's internal ref jargon! I wouldn't have given that tech. You need to have thicker skin than that.

Yes 100%. We drafted the guy thinking he would play in Europe for a few years and when he didn't what he went through was pretty crappy. I suspect that Paul Allen told the coaching staff to stick him on the end of the bench out of spite.

Off topic about Jermaine: I really wish the Blazers would have just let Brian Grant go and played that next season with Jermaine getting all the backup 4/5 minutes. If there was a statement like "We love Brian but we simply couldn't afford to pay him what Miami offered, we understand he has to do what's right for him and we wish him the best" we all would have been a hell of a lot happier. Instead they traded for Kemp and they had that epic melt down got crushed by the Lakers in the first round. If they had just let Brian go and given Jermaine plenty of minutes we probably would have gotten crushed by the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals instead.

I've reffed that dude... He's dumb as a box of rocks... He was fucking playing in a CITY league with his brother AFTER signing a 21 MM contract...????? Just fucking STUPID....

To further explain the box of rocks that was smarter than Catfish:

The Defense is in a 2-3 zone. He's at the top of the key. This MF is calling for a Clear Out Isolation play from the 2 feet above the 3 point line....???? Iso from there against a 2-3??? Really???

I love Patty Mills game but in all fairness, after he left the Blazers he went to work on his game and conditioning...he was a couple of donuts away from being Raymond Felton as a Blazer...out of shape. He talked about the difference before joining the Spurs. Good for Patty and now, I'd love to have the new improved version of him back

Really? When you don't work out AT ALL to improve your body in the offseason, when you throw towels in your teammate's face, when you throw basketballs at your teammates when their backs are turned, when you lead the league in Techs for 5 straight seasons, when you hunt a referee down at the end of the game, when you get caught smoking weed in your BRIGHT YELLOW Bummer er Hummer, the list goes on. He needed to go.

I know someone who used to smoke weed (they sold it to him) and play video games with Outlaw and his brother at his condo in Tualatin.

I think you missed the context of my post. I was responding to someone saying that IF the Blazers were to have given in to Petrovic's desire to start, it would have resulted in Jerome moving to the bench. Obviously, neither scenario (Kersey or Duck as a reserve) was going to happen. I was simply engaging a thought experiment.

And since you asked, I'm just three years younger than you, and I also remember that era very well. It would have been fascinating to see what a highly talented team without a traditional big man could have done.

That wasn't Sheed getting shafted. It was the fans getting shafted. That was the best thing that ever happened to him.

The Blazers enabled him to win a championship, by making it possible for him to join the Spurs. How is that shafting him?

Paul Allen LOVES Patty Mills. If anything, Paul told KP that he wanted Patty on the damn team regardless of what he and Nate wanted.

Brilliant trade. Remember, attendance was in the toilet, and The Rattler blocking shots put more butts in the seats, even though the team wasn't very good. We got more out of Sheed going away than Rahim was ever going to give us. Every point he scored was thick, tasty gravy on already quite moist and delicious turkey and stuffing...

That could very well be true. But the result was still that Patty never really got a fair shake and that's why he left.
