Tell you what... If America adopts Netherland's tax code, I'll buy you a new car. 70% on income of 40k
18,267 millionaire households in D.C. The median net worth of our congressmen is $1.03M. Nancy Pelosi is worth at least $88M.
What I posted is the truth and Denny will post graphs to support it. How dare you say this is fucking ridiculous. Learn the truth then post.
People advocating for higher taxes need to stop and calculate how much tax they already pay. Not just in Federal income tax, but all taxes paid to all levels of government, many of the taxes are hidden. Here is just a partial list. Dog License Tax Gasoline Tax Liquor Tax Marriage License Tax Medicare and Medicaid, or Obama care Taxes Property Tax Real Estate Tax Septic Permit Tax Sales Taxes School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Toll Bridge, Tunnel and Road Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Workers Compensation Tax Telephone federal, state and local surcharge taxes Social Security Tax Capital Gains Tax Building Permit Tax Most employed USA citizens already lose between 43% and 60% of their paycheck to some form of tax.
Okay gotcha. Which comes up with my other argument. We have states and federal taxes. The EU is the Union for Europe, like the United States is the union for our states. So wouldn't Netherlands be like, let's say, NY or Las Vegas, as Greece would be like Mississippi?
Why aren't the union bailing out Germany, Italy, Greece or Spain? I mean they are all adopting some form of socialism right?
Germany, no. They did the opposite of what Paul Krugman wanted and Obama did during the height of the financial crisis and are running huge surpluses. The social democracies are upset that their plans didn't work and want Germany to pay for everything. EDIT: link http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2015...n-dealing-with-vulnerable-eurozone-economies/
I'm just saying it's easy to pick a country with like 20 million people and assume it can apply for one with 300+ million. It doesn't ever work that way.
What is called "profit" in capitalism is included in "tax" in communism. The markup batween each level, from producer to retailer to consumer, was the only tax in most communist countries. To compare tax in capitalism to tax in communism, you should include profit. You'll find that our tax rates suddenly look much higher.
I'm sure that's not true. The government has been working to cut down on mailing checks in favor of direct deposit, cards, and other payment methods. barfo
