The Local High school here, spent 1 Million $$$ smackaroos to lay Artificial turf here, (gets to damn hot for grass, and water shortages are creating insane water bills, with overage penalties)...... A lot of the schools are putting down the fake turf now. The High School I went to spent millions doing the football and baseball fields.
Just around the corner from where I live, is a State Soccer Tournament Series of Fields. The grass Fields, (well watered) run for a Mile and 1/2 long, and 1/4 mile wide/deep. I've never seen so many Soccer fields in one place. Never anywhere. Millions for Turf, Millions for Water to have real grass....? I can't imagine what the water bill IS like, its not been disclosed (yet)......
