Who are some guys that you guys see as sleepers in the next couple draft classes? Here's a few of mine: Sean Williams (Boston College) Williams is a beast. Call this a bit of a biased pick if you want, but I think he is a better NBA prospect than most mock drafts tell you. He is very athletic, he's strong, he's a solid rebounder, and most of all - he's an outstanding shot blocker. Absolutely excellent shot blocker. He has Theo Ratliff 2.0 in him, IMO. Acie Law (Texas A&M) He is a tall PG, he's very quick, he plays very much under control for the most part, he has pretty good defensive insticts, and he has all the offensive tools. I mean, he's not going to be a star or anything, but he does a little bit of everything offensively. He may not dish 10 assists per game, but he does a pretty solid job with running an offense. I think he is most likely the best PG in the 07 draft class (if not, top 2-3). Reyshawn Terry (North Carolina) He is mostly talked about as a 2nd round pick, but I think he's going to be a damn good 2nd rounder if it comes to that. He reminds me of a young Ricky Davis, without the attitude problems. He's a freak athlete, he's a hustler, he's a pretty good rebounder, he has really extended his shooting range, and he is a better defensive player than he gets credit for. Those aren't all my sleepers, but those are a few I wanted to throw out there to get the thread going. What do you think of my 3 guys up there, and who would you like to add?
I 100% agree with you about Williams. This kid has the potential to be the best shot blocker to come around since Motumbo and Ratliff played. Like you said, athletic, solid rebounder, but the part that impresses me the most is that before this year his offensive game was basically non existant. This year he has worked on it and is averaging close to 14 points a game and just over 7 rebounds a game with SIX blocks a game. He doesn't really get much publicity as one of the top defenders in the nation, but I believe he is right up there, and because he doesn't get that attention, he won't end up where he rightfully deserves to be and some team is going to get a steal. Another guy I think could be a good steal is JR Reynolds of Virgina. He will most likely be a 2nd rounder, but he is one of the best shooters I have seen play, and has the skill sets to play both the 1 and the 2. Plus he's a senior, which IMO always helps players 1) transition to the NBA, and 2) just become all around better players. The last guy I'm going to add for now is Ronald Steele, Junior PG from Alabama. His stats are down from last year, and that will probably make him stay for his senior year. But IMO he is one of the top PGs in the country. He is extremely good at getting to the line and even better at hitting his free throws. He's a very good natural PG that can penetrate, kick it, or take it to the hole and get to the line. He's also an extremely underrated defender with good size and the body for the NBA.
Reshawn Terry is a great sleeper. I think he will make it to bottom of first round abd he will still be a steal.
Nick Frazekas and Glen Davis. Both are late first round early second round guys. The draft nowadays is all about potential over proven production, and that is what is hurting the stock of these two guys but they will become very good NBA players.
