Tanaka, Warren, Severino, CC (I doubt this will be enough for PS play With OUT Eovaldi)..........even if CC can hold up.........though, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't really foresee that...... http://web.yesnetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150921&content_id=150788936&oid=36019 Rather than call it quits on the season after a 4-9 start with an ERA of 5.27, Sabathia battled back from a right knee injury and has given three of his best starts of the year since returning. In those three starts, Sabathia has posted a miniscule 1.04 ERA, while limiting opposing hitters to a .190 clip. Sabathia has faced the Orioles, Rays and Mets in those three games, earning his fifth win against the Mets Sunday and striking out 18 batters over that span.
The brace certainly looks to be helping. The difference you notice in CC of late is he's now not having that fall apart inning. He could've easily folded in the first inning against the Mets but he fought back. His stuff also seems to be better and he's striking more people out. Like I said not going to hold a party for him but the fact is he's here so if he can help that's all that matters.
I've been down on CC all year. I will be the first to say I am glad he's made a turn around. Fingers crossed. My feeling is if he can contribute from here on out, fantastic. I still will think the bubble will burst. That's how tenuous his pitching can be. In fact, that how I feel about the whole pitching staff.
I second that... if he can turn it into a 4th, 5th, 6th in a row it could be believable... still too hard to swallow right now as reality...
...^^^ 2 all the above.....and it is a bit too hard to swallow; OR- I got to see it to believe it, 2-3 games doth not make a solid SP; but I do hope he can turn it around, now and hopefully next year, ... Perhaps-somewhere else..... tho' I doubt any Team in their right mind would assume his fat contract....
I like what C.C.s been doing of late but I find it a little difficult to get optimistic what it comes to the tilted hat dough boy.
short term positive trend line amidst of a sea of inconsistency that is several years long, Al Gore must be his biggest fan. CC = global warming.
