You know how much I love being right. Probably a low risk move, right?

I think we're pretty strong at PF though with Leonard, Davis, and Vonleh waiting in the wings. I think Vonleh is a lot more talented than Bennett, so Bennett would be a waste of a roster spot.

This franchise is cursed in many ways, but we always seem to have a good PF. LaMarcus is actually the worst PF we've had in awhile. Randolph, Wallace, Grant, Robinson, Williams, Lucas. Now Leonard is going to be better than LA! Just watch.

They've always overlapped too, for the past 25 years. That really is amazing when you think about it.

He's about equal to Harkless. High pick, a nothing so far, can go either way.

I would have thought the one doing the initial call out, out of nowhere, then running and hiding behind a diversion tactic, and refusing to tell me who thinks Meyers is Larry Bird was the immature one.

    Adults don't backtrack.

Why do you young bucks always forget about the Kermit Washingtons and Kenny Carr's??? Or the Lloyd Neals? They bridged the gaps before and after Lucas and before Williams. Those guys were mean, tough, underrated and obviously forgotten. And they're exactly the type of guys every team needs. I'm hoping Ed Davis is exactly that kind of guy. Leonard is likely Dirk-lite....not that that is a bad thing in any way.....

Please don't impugn my knowledge of Blazer history. I'm well aware of our PF strength in the 70's, but who of significance did we have at the 4 in the 80's? When I mentioned the PF continuity, I could only go back to Buck before I came to a dry spell. Caldwell Jones doesn't quite fit the bill; Kenny Carr was no all star either. He was decent, but not on the level of any if the others mentioned above.

I don't know why, and I'm definitely not prepared to argue their careers vs. potential, but I have this nagging feeling with the "cap space/minimum salary requirements" that we're going down a "Vince Carter and 1sts for RLEC" scenario....where we have the ability to use an asset that no one else in the league has, and we're holding on to it hoping to get a home run later in the year, when there's a solid single with potential for much more sitting there for almost nothing. Maybe we end up with Paul George or Durant or someone similar in a few months, but it's not often that you can pick up a healthy former #1 for just cash--which you have oodles of.

Again, not saying that Bennett = 2010 VC, but that's what this keeps bringing to my mind. I mean, didn't many of us say that good uses of this space would be to get a vet w/bloated salary + projectable future asset (whether young player or draft pick)? Seems like picking Bennett off of waivers would've been a relatively low-risk move...if we really needed that much space later on (and he hadn't panned out) then we could've packaged together some of our larger contracts (maybe including Bennett, or Kaman, or Henderson, or whoever) to get almost up to the max. As it is, I think we may have (if it doesn't happen) missed out on an opportunity here.

Then again, if the guys on our staff who know him advocated against getting him, I will defer to their greater knowledge.

Seriously man, grow up. It's such a trivial thing.

I'm saying that Meyers is Larry Bird. I said it. Me. Nate Bishop. Meyers is clearly Larry fucking Bird. Now will you shut up about it?
