Synopsis: Biggie gives up a bomb to 209 hitter Beckham, offense cannot surmount a 2 run deficit, two out no one on and it takes 3 relievers to get the final out surrendering an additional out in the process, the Ellsbury & Gardner continue poopr performance against Robertson. Jesus Christ, the members of this team need to confess their sins to the Pope.

Here's the second half story. .246 average over the course of three months. When Ellsbury, Gardner, Arod, and McCann are hitting a combined .216 over the second half how is the current situation surprising?

    Ellsbury Jul/Aug/Sept: .222
    Gardner Jul/Aug/Sept: .213
    Beltran Jul/Aug/Sept: .296
    Arod Jul/Aug/Sept: .216
    McCann Jul/Aug/Sept: .212
    Bird Aug/Sept .250
    Didi Jul/Aug/Sept .296
    Headley Jul/Aug/Sept .280
    Drew Jul/Aug/Sept .231

being disciplined at plate doesn't necessarily hike the average, and just because you swing at a strike doesn't mean you get a hit, it just means you were disciplined at plate.. these guys are swingin at balls in the dirt, over their heads puttin themselves in a hole.

in the field they can't even execute a simple run down, throwin balls on routine plays in the dirt, over a head, losin grip on ball, its all about discipline, and torre got it into his players, where tonto can't

Frankly, it's a new angle every night for your stupidity and your trolling on the matter has just about lost the appeal to even reply anymore. Your comparisons to the players of a dynasty period was dumb enough. To try and further it is just plain idiocy. You had guys like Jeter and Bernie with seasons in those years where they hit .340. You can't possibly believe this nonsense which confirms my suspicions all along that you're doing this crap on purpose. Grow up already.

Not to mention since you started your nonsense right off the bat tonight in regards to the lineup you could refer to my post #42 and educate yourself for once. For the past three months the highest averages on the team are Beltran .296, Didi .296 and Headley at .280. With a lefty going and not wanting to put back to back left handed hitters in the lineup that might give you an indication of why Headley was in the number two spot.

pitiful......coupled with shit for stolen bases, ridiculous, with the speed of Jacoby, and Sir Didi also, I expected all 3 horses on the base-paths, yet shit for SB's.

Small ball, Long Ball, a combo of both Wins every time, coupled with lights out Pitching, which IMO the SP Staff is not overall, but then what team these days are complete in a full 4-5 man Staff.

Upon entrance to all games in YS, Valium samples should be given to the crowd of baseballs best Fans. Not Beer, to a point hecklers become problems, in their drunken stupor.

He would of come by if the Yanx were at home, making a detour to take confession, prior to and after the game......would he break Papal Vatican tradition to put a NY hat on??? I didn't think so.....!!~~

Blew my mind, when I 1st saw the Bullet proof armored Fiat. My Son and I got a gutt buster. I'd of appreciated seeing The Pope, get in and out of a Ferrari, now that would be style, for the Vicar of St. Peter, Jay-Zeus, even tho' Pope Francis is Argentinian not Italian, the Vatican is monopolizing Italian Cars. Francis unlike any and every Pope attracts Hispanics from out of the wood work. Hispanics who've become the Majority in most Metropolis' and have gone far beyond the South West Borders, or farm fields in any state, or inner city.

With Francis mentioning to the Senate, War needs to stop, I wonder how He'd approach Teddy Roosevelt, if He stepped out of Time Machine.......

Pope Benedict would of pulled up in a VW Bug, or could of drove ina V-16 Bugatti Veyron. Which would not lose a mph with heavy armored bullet proofing.

When 2/3rds of your lineup is hitting under 25o you really can't explain it much.

...wait, first you say, "being disciplined at plate doesn't necessarily hike the average"

...then you say, "its all about discipline"

    ...nice contradiction.

Per an ESPN Article CC stated that he had to be better, especially late in the game: no shit. When some puke like Wallace Matthews comments on Fridays loss claiming the team lacks a sense of urgency and you agree is living proof how close to bargain basement the Yankees are.

...^^^ I laughed at the headline "White Sox deal Yankees' AL East title hopes a blow".

..."a blow"....uhhh, newsflash, the AL East race is over....the Yanx are now playing for HFA in the WC game.

It's an offense that struggles against every starting pitcher they face now. Ellsbury and Gardner have killed the lineup as they have done nothing for months now.

the line up is wrong to begin with, then the rest dictates itself... 1 inning a game the yanks have to win a game, not giving yourself much of a chance!
