<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Paul Pierce will not travel with the Boston Celtics up to Oakland for their game on Friday versus the Warriors. ?I?m going to stay off it,? said Pierce, who won?t see Boston play live again until next Wednesday?s home game against Cleveland. ?Getting up and around with this boot on is too much wear and tear. ?It?s better if I stay put. The more I walk, the more it starts hurting.?</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/439...e_heading_home/Anybody think Paul Pierce will be able to come back into the lineup against the Cavs on the return back home after the long west coast trip?at that point it would be about two weeks and you know Paul's itching to play against Lebron and get back on the court
Pierce and LeBron have always had good duels before, and I'd love to see another, but if keeping Pierce healthy the rest of the year means missing one or two extra games now I'll take it. We all know the guy is a warrior and will do anything to win, but I'd just rather him be safe than sorry this time.
I don't think Pierce should come back any sooner than expected. I don't want to take ANY chances. I know Pierce is a warrior, and I know his philosophy is "if I can breath, I can play," and this is killing him sitting out. But, he shouldn't rush anything. I think he should sit the full 3 weeks to be completely positive he will be OK.
I agree with CB. it's not like him coming back early will really help anything. yeah, it will temporarily stop the bleeding, but if it causes anything more serious, we don't want to be kicking ourselves over this. He's doing the right thing by sitting on it, and he should sit on it as long as possible.
I disagree, I love watching him and LeBron go at it lol, I'm all for it regardless of the possibly negative repercussions.

CLEVELAND, than rest his injury and make sure no risks are taken... a risk that could possibly keep him out longer?
if I wasnt going to the cavs game I would want him to rest until he is 110%but its gonna be horrendous without PP there with Lebron tearing us apart

I didn't say it was the smartest move, but from a fan's perspective it's what I want to see.
with pierce, you're probably right, but stress fractures can be very serious, especially in a focal point of the body such as the foot. like they say, if you're feet hurt, your body hurts.

The big/good thing about it is that it was NOT a fracture. It was a stress "reaction" which is something that could have potentially led to a fracture. It was not a fracture though.
Also I'd like to add in that I'd like to see what Gerald can do with LeBron. I'd love to see how he defends him and how he attacks him on offense, but knowing Doc, Gerald will be riding the bench. But I agree with you all, as I said in my first post, I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially with a guy like Paul, who gives it his all every single minute he's out there.
