Anyone know what Buck Williams up to these days? I think it's cool how many Blazers from the Drexler-era have come back to work with the Blazers. It was so cool to have Porter and Kersey together on the post-game panels.

I know Buck likes Portland and wanted to stay on as an assistant in Portland, maybe he can take Kersey's place with a media bit.

Anyone know other ex-blazers still live in Portland? Brandon Roy might be good in the media as well.

I think Roy actually didn't like the city of Portland. Just did not connect with the fanbase as much and has been distant. Wonder if he feels he let us down with his injuries?

Hmm, not sure, he was really loved here for awhile, and was the face of the franchise. He seemed like a likable guy, but maybe that was just a front he was putting on. There were also rumors of him whining for more shots.

I think this team in general though, will be a really likeable group of guys.

I never really liked Roy that much off the court and I don't really think he'd be good in a media role.

    Roy seemed very passive aggressive.

Dame is the anti-Roy. I get the impression that Dame will tell you to your face if he doesn't like you.

As far as ex-blazers, I don't know, I don't want to hire guys to be just figure heads. Not really my thing.

There are quite a few ex Blazers that still live in the area. As far as I'm aware (but could be wrong....and I know I won't include them all) they include, Geoff Petrie, Shaler Halimon, Rick Adelman, Bob Gross, Steve Johnson, Lloyd Neal, Larry Steele, Michael Holton, Kenny Carr, Terry Dischinger, Danny Anderson, Steve Blake, Greg Smith, Terry Porter, Darnell Valentine and....? I'm sure there are plenty more.

Steve Blake owns his home here (West Linn area) too.

He makes many public appearances here. Yesterday he was at the West Linn 7-11 to sell Oscar Meyer Wieners.

I grew up in West Linn and know that 7-11 well. Was Payton Pritchard there asking Sabas for tips on passing drills? We Lions have such high hopes for him at Oregon....

I believe Buck is back in North Carolina. Chatted with him a couple summers ago about his son. His son is interested in getting into sports broadcasting. Classy guy![IMG]

I have no idea if he liked the city of Portland or not - but he was a class act in the brief interaction we had with him. He actually went out of his way to apologize to my wife and kid that that they were kept at the end of a line to see him because they did not buy whatever was sold at the event he was attending - and stayed longer to chat with that kid. I know some people did not like him - but I always loved watching him play and to me he will always be one of the greats.

Dame and BRoy have that same humble feel about them. Dame likes the attention and social aspect of the NBA more the B did. Both quality guys.

Roy likes Portland, but he likes Seattle more. His permanent absence is surprising. He must own several homes. Needs a condo near the Moda.
