I didn't see any threads about kevin durant so I made one..........I've only seen him play a few times and I think he's got a lot of talent but I think he needs to put on some weight before he makes any noise in the nba but 21 points a game as a freshmen on an excellent team like texas is impressive. the guy is long and can shoot 86% from the line and 36% from three. 36% isn't overly impressive in college but it's still pretty good. he's a definite lottery pick I think. I'm not sure if he's eligible tho because of the age limit......maybe that's why there wasn't a thread about him :g:
The kid is one of the most dynamic offensive players I have seen in a while. He can shoot the J from anywhere, has the size to post up, the speed to drive to the rim. IMO His offensive potential for someone not in the league yet is the highest since LeBron was a senior in High School. If he can work on his defense and put on some weight there is no reason at all why this kid can't put it all together and be the best player in the league.
Durant is a great athlete and a great player already in college basketball as a freshman. Likely to stay only this year in college but he reminds me of Lamar Odom without the handles and passing ability. IIRC he is putting up around 24 ppg and 10 rbpg with 1-2 bpg. If he goes into the NBA with those types of numbers I dont see what can deny him from being a top 3 pick in what the experts are calling a "Deep" draft. From what I have seen he needs to add alot of muscle and post up moves before he will be successful in today's NBA. I think he will end up being one of the finest young players in the upcoming future. Kid has talent.

When you watch him play in college, you just get the feeling that he doesn't deserve to be at the collegiate level. He is on a different level than any other players in college....obviously aside from Oden and maybe a couple others. His ability to score is simply amazing. He can shoot the 3 ball, or he can get to the basket, or even settle for mid range jumpshots. On the defensive end, he can guard players on the perimeter, or he can be a great shot blocker on the ball or from help defense. Many people say that he needs to gain weight, but I think he is fine with where he is right now. I think that once he makes it to the pros, and after he is in the league for a couple years, you will definatey see signs and qualities of Tracy McGrady. I just hope he stays healthy...
I think people make too big an issue out of his weight, in all the pictures and in the game I watched on TV, he looked so much stronger than he did in high school. He's really put on a lot of muscle. Whats not to like about Durant? Sure he shoots too much when he can go to the basket but thats the only real problem I see. He can shoot with awesome range, drive to the basket, pass the ball, handle the ball, run the floor very well, use his long arms and size to lock college guys down, he can block a lot of shots and is a great rebounder, not to mention he's got a very supportive family and a head on his shoulders.

He's going to be a atop 5 prospect for sure. He has a decent height at a forward. But I still think he needs to get bigger.

Durant will go #2 if Oden comes out. If not he'll go #1. Most of the scouts and talking heads that know about college players and NBA players say he's more talented than Oden..but Oden is a REALLY big man, and you always take size first, especially ones as physically gifted as Oden is.
Kevin Durant is going to become an explosive player, and a superstar in the making. Everyone is talking about Durant and he is going to be the best player out of next year's draft class, even better than Oden. He is 6'10 and can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court and he's as explosive as anyone in the league. He will really surprise you and once he gains some weight, this kid will compete with LeBron James as the best player in the league in a couple years. He just needs to improve on his defense and gain some weight, and you've got yourself the best player in the league, even better than Lebron.
Depending on what pick Philly gets, if Oden is gone already, I really, really hope they pick Durant. The kid is just a flat out baller. I'd love him in Philly.

He is a 6'10 SF his out side shot is amazing. If he puts on some pounds, and strength he might be aight even at the PF.But Yeah if Philly get's the #1 pick Oden be picked we would trade Sammy D then. And if we get 2 then we should trade up even though the team would probably not wanna move down even to the 2nd pick haha. But if Durant won't be able to play the PF then Philly would have a problem since I think Carney, and Iggy can both be good starters and there both SF's. Iggy I guess can play the 2 though then since we deff should get Durant. So if we get pick 2 we would have: Sammy at the center, Durant SF probably, and Iggy at the 2.

He will fill out over time and even more so than Tracy McGrady did. And there's no way in hell Kevin Durant is playing PF. He's much more of a mismatch at SF and thats his natural position.
If anybody has watched Durant play in the last 3 games, you will know why he will AT LEAST go #2 in the draft. In the last 3 games, Durant I believe has scored 37, 33 or 34, and 27. And this is at the collegiate level. Nobody ever scores this many points in a divison one college game. It just doenst happen. I dont know if its because Oden has been injured, but when I watch him, I am not that impressed. The only reason he does so well is because of his size. On the offensive end, he doesn't offer that much from what I have seen. He doesn't have a soft touch, and he cant finish. But hey, this may just have to do with his hand injury and that he is still recovering.
Durant had 18 points at the half today against Mizzo...just dominated...If only Texas had more experience...maybe his play would get more attention. Maybe if he played in the ACC and had Dickie V. I don't see how he can not be College Player of the Year averaging 23/11 2 blk 50% FG 40% 3FG and 85% FT
^He also averages almost 2 assists a game too, lol.He had 28 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assist, and a block in todays game vs. a pretty good OU squad today. The guy's a beast.
