I'm all for Harkless making a bunch of 3's. Don't start him instead of Aminu, start him at SG WITH Aminu at SF. What a lot of length, wingspan and defensive versatility that would be. Scrap the 6'3"/6'3" back-court.
Exactly - was hoping they'd try this out at some stage. . If his shooting is not too suspect, Harkless has the size, length, and athleticism to fill in great at 2-Guard.
I'm not a big fan of Lillard and CJ playing that much together. Didn't seem to work out much last season and they have similar weaknesses ..like seeing a taller 2 guard next to both of them
Just like Meyers is a 4 in a 5 body and will likely never be exactly what tradition says say a guy his size should be, maybe Harkless is a 2 in a 3 body and why he has struggled. I'd love to see what he'd do at SG if they'd give him the opportunity. If he sucks, we know he can still play the 3.
Well it seems everyone working hard but I think crabbe will get the play at the 2 until Henderson is ready.
I think my favorite part about camp and the competition is that we really will field the best starters we can because their play is what is going to win that spot. And for those that don't win a spot it will hopefully spark them to fight even harder to take away that spot. I'm sure we all have our favorites or hopefuls but I have no problem with someone else earning it over the favorite because it will make us that much better. And that competition is going to make it really hard for us to pick a fan favorite and that it awesome. I'm really excited to be surprised at the unexpected because we have way too many potential guys for at least one or two of them to not work out.
Anyone else think that Charlotte is really going to regret dealing Vonleh? I thought that immediately after the deal, but I feel like that even more now. WTF were they thinking?
If they were so high on him, why didn't he play at all last season? Sent from my Baller-Ass 5.5" iPhone 6+......... FAMS
You're high. I didn't say they were. Dunno if you hadn't noticed, but Charlotte has long been weak and evaluating talent. Besides, he missed training camp and battle injuries. Super young. Of course he struggled last year. CJ had the same issues his rookie year and it pretty much wasted the year. And he was 3 years older as a rook, and now he's supposedly poised to break out. Plus, young bigs tend to take longer to develop.
He was injured during training camp, played on a team with Big Al and on a team pushing for the playoffs. And it's pretty clear he has developed both physically and mentally so I think it's fair to be hopeful about him
I'm going to predict right now Cliff Alexander will have a better, longer NBA career than Thomas Robinson. He may not be better as rookie than Robinson is in his 4th year, but I predict by the end of his second NBA season, Alexander will be better than year 5 T-Rob. BNM
Yep, Alexander is raw, but T-Rob is STILL raw after 3 years at Kansas and 3 years in the NBA. Alexander just seems to get it. He knows what he needs to work on and seem more than willing to put in the work. I have no idea what T-Rob's problem is. Maybe getting drafted too high and then being passed around from team to team has messed him up. But, I think going undrafted will motivate Alexander the same way it motivated Wesley Matthews. BNM
Yes and no. I think that Vonleh will turn into a player they regret getting rid of. But I think having MKG and Batum at the 2/3 will go a long way defensively in the east. They're going to give wing players some problems there.
Pretty sure he was messed up prior to being drafted too high. Remember, he boasted about being the best prospect in the draft. And he already had a reputation in college of not being the highest BBIQ guy.
