To be fair, your show at the FAN was supposed to be doing great too before Austin gave you the sack. Then again, trying to get ahead regurgitating Ropp's second-hand material or aspiring to be the next Cowherd clone only works for so long, don't it?

Out of curiosity, how does a sub-0.5 PPM equal "just fine," when I think Swag's still actually drawing better with his golf show that no one's ever listened to? There are podcasters who possess higher drawing power without having to resort to insulting the fanbase you depend on to pull up the rear far behind both DP and Colin every day.

I would say it's a shame that you won't understand that until you find yourself on the outside looking in without another sucker in local management to throw you a bone, but instead I will gladly enjoy the schadenfreude on behalf of the rest of us who got elbowed aside in favor of your firmly establishing yourself in the midst of local sports media mediocrity.

This has to be the most epic first post in forum history. I'm not sure what the hell is going on but I'd like to welcome you RipCityTwo.

Hey Taylor, you brought up a good point. The insults slung here are mostly old and tired but at the same time so were the insults you slung at us (in jest or not).

I just don't understand why either side needs to insult each other (or at least, be this lazy about it). Yeah, we're "zeros", yeah, you get to go to the games and cover the team, yeah we're "basement living virgins" (tm HCP).

Not exactly an original group of insults there. But why?

If anything, I'd think you'd want to try to include us into the fold (of your audience).

Not that we're a HUGE #, but as someone who does listen to the show (and other shows), it really rubs me the wrong way when the hosts start talking shit about fans. Wouldn't you want to have fans who are knowledgeable about the team?

I think it's a safe bet that the people who post here (and other message boards) know far more about the team than the regular listeners of sports fans do, and to be honest more than the host of the show itself do.

Some of it is because of age, but some of it is also because we're fans. We're such fans of the team that we joined message boards KNOWING full well the reputation of them isn't the most flattering.

Some of us know (off the top of the head) the day the team was born, or who the first pick was, or why they chose the name, who the owner was in 1980, etc...why insult that group of fans? They may not call in, but they would listen.

Granted, most of us act like huge tools on here, but so do you.

Lol. Did you really just try and brag about a suite to me? Anytime you are in one let me know and I'll come join you
I think you have to understand a radio bit and how this whole thing started. It is a complete joke and has been this whole time. Of course I want you as a listener it was a fun line in a parody rap song. If you've ever met me or listened to the show you'd know I interact and care more about fans and listeners than any host in Portland. In fact I'm one of the few who was born and raised here and have been a Blazer fan all my life. There's no doubt people on here know more than I do. I just happen to have access and can kinda talk at times. This whole thing has spiraled out of control it was supposed to be a fun bit

Oh I understand. A Phil Hendrie esque joke/theme (who btw, is hilarious). If you look at my posts regarding this whole thing, I'm mostly on the side of seeing the humor in it (I believe I complimented you on the rap).

I also said to Sly originally that it was good PR for us, even tho I find that kind of odd to do.

My bigger point (which wasn't meant to be super critical of you) was that it seems to be the wrong way to include fans.

False or phony controversies do sell/get attention (I myself have tried to create a controversy with Kaley Cuoco, but it only resulted in a retraining order), but it's a bit like watching WWE. Forced and pandering to lowest common denom.

Still like the show (and secretly chuckle at the jokes you made at our expense, but I'm a dork).

Huh? In no way was I trying to brag. Members of the forum are getting a suite together so a bunch of us can go hang out at a game. I was legitimately saying you should be invited so you can see that we clearly aren't zeroes.

Then I said you're the zero as playful banter because this thread is danforth vs rc2 afterall
