http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...wks_sign_slava/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Atlanta Hawks today signed veteran free agent forward/center Stanislav ?Slava? Medvedenko, according to Hawks? Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Medvedenko spent six years with the Los Angeles Lakers (2000-06), averaging 5.4 ppg and 2.9 rpg in 249 career games (.451 FG%, .732 FT%). He enjoyed his best season in 2003-04, when he put in 8.3 ppg and 5.0 rpg over 68 contests (.441 FG%, .767 FT%). The native of Kiev, Ukraine owns two NBA championship rings (2001, 2002) from his time with the Lakers, and was a teammate of Hawks guard Tyronn Lue in L.A. in 2000-01.</div> He has experience, but I don't think this is really going to help this much at all. I mean, come on, it's Slava Medvedenko. He is a tough player and a solid rebounder, though. He had a stretch in LA a couple years ago where he was playing real well, from what I can remember. I guess Slava is a better option than Batista, though.
At least he is better than Brian Scalabrine. I do think they could use Slava because they are weak in the 4 and 5 spot IMO. They have only J.Smith, Shelden Williams, Zaza, Lorenzen Wright and Batista. I don't think he will stay in ATL for long though.
He's an idiot because he won't play Slava. There are much better posts at ATL than Slava but he could get minutes if let's say Lorenzen Wright or Zaza get injured. Slava is like Pape Sow is for Raptors: only get to play when others are injured.
Wow, what a sad state of affairs for Atlanta. Signing Slava 'I don't eva eva pass the ball no matta what' Medvadenko.

Think it's a waste of money. And Shelden W can play c too. Like they traded Harrington for Slava and Pacers 1.s r pick! :thumbdn1:
5 minutes, 3 fouls, 2-2 from the line.Great signing..... :thumbdn1: Solomon Jones should've played more..
I don't even think he is better than Scalabrine he is not going to help out at all besides riding the pine. He is only going to get in during the blowouts and the Hawks don't have too many of those unless they are on the losing end.
Give the guy a break, he's one hell of a shooter. His defense is a little soft though. And hey, he has 2 rings!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Theres a reason he never even gets off the bench, he's worthless.</div>You are right. I don't really know why ATL signed him. Seems like throwing money down the drain to me.
No matter how many guys they get, regardless of a superstar of course, Woody wouldn't know how to use them. Slava is a waste out there. Nothing going out there with Woody coaching and now they're getting Jeremy Richardson after Dijon Thompson's 10-day contract, which was "worthwhile" for the guy. They say Jeremy has a big upside. Take a peak then. http://www.draftexpress.com/blogs.php?blogid=6
