But people don't really talk about it. The first thing they jump on is "gun control this" and "gun control that". Its the easy and wrong answer to the problem.

If you sort homicides by low to high, its generally asian countries, then anglo-saxon countries, then latin american countries.

If my assertion holds true, then gun control is relatively useless and a waste of time. The differences are cultural and mental.

 

Race/ethnicity is probably the defining factor when it comes to looking at gun deaths in a country. Hell, if you look at this country I'm sure the different ethnic groups' homicide deaths per capita reflect worldwide stats by ethnicity.

Sure, how sunny a country is probably plays a role. Gun Control too.
The problem is cultural and culture stems from ethnicity.

Where are the stats showing gun control is actually effective?

Most people just say "oh, in Australia or England there are no deaths!". Yeah, both those countries are like 90% white, which are shown worldwide and even when looking at the US are pretty low.

 

Let's try to be somewhat realistic here.

You can't round up 6,000,000 armed people unless they let you.

You wouldn't even consider trying to.

 

Sure, and this is what is called an outlier.

 

These mass shootings are all outliers. Their effect on net gun homicide deaths in the country probably not even measurable. Psychologically, they are more damaging BECAUSE they happen in white communities, because its something that is very uncommon and is unexpected. They are carried out by mentally ill people, people who deviate from the normal behavior of those of their race/ethnicity, whereas most of the homicides from ethnic groups are cultural in nature and can be predicted, as shown by worldwide patterns and by the ethnic makeup of a community and their crime statistics.
