There's many others than these noted below and above: to name a few more greats- Robert Johnson (Wrote numerous blues tunes like Crossroads, which Clapton jumped on). Rudy Lewis (Drifter's Vocalist) Alan Wilson (Lead Singer and Composer for Canned Heat) Ron "Pigpen" McKernan (1 of the Founding members, and keyboardist for The Grateful Dead) Pete Ham - Badfinger Gary Thain - Uriah Heep and My Hero, Gram Parsons (GP), who I met during Clarence White's Local Cemetery Funeral/burial. C.W. was a member of the Byrds. Gram died but 2 months before He turned 27, just a hour 1/2 jaunt from this Desert to the fabled, and largest California Federal Park/Monument, ie His buddy stole GP's casket at LAX, took it back out to Joshua Tree to cremate Him. Where he died, in a Motel just outside the Park. JT is a wonderland of 4 deserts converging, just east of Palm Springs in the Hills and 4 different Desert Flora/Fauna, Cacti, different types of Deserts. I've never seen Rock Formations geologically as incredible as those in JT. The Grand Canyon has no equal. Not even the 4 Corner Parks, and then some other areas, (Chirachua, Organ Pipe, Saguaro, Parks) are not as grandiose.
Hate to say it.........Yankees may be stuck on 27 for a while. The need for youth to step up in this organization is long overdue.
I'm going to be sticking right here, like most of us did last off season... How about you Rick? Are you doing the same? enough of those other boards.....
Bingo, this Team needs to strengthen its Minor Lg, system, as well as add a FA here or there, more a RBI guy, with a High B'Avg with RISP....and a SP or 2. Other than that, the youth movement should continue on. 1 of my favorite things about this year, was seeing Bird and Severino...
Stuck Dead at 27 Rings...... My Youngest Son, (31 yrs of age), has harassed me for 2 decades, calling my Yanx the "Spankees," tho' its only friendly banter, as his Cowboys are really the Girls.....
