Caron has the edge on Tayshuan in scoring, rebounding, speed/fastbreak ability. Tayshaun has the advantage on blocks, thats it.</div>Ya sure, but Taysahun once again is the 4th choice and Caron is a 2nd/3rd. Caron rebounds more cause he dosen't have to fight someone like SHeed and Nazr for the rebound and he still isn't that bad wiht rebounds. And IMO Taysahun ahs more Speed/Fastbreak than Caron.

Caron and Arenas are the key men in the Wizards fastbreak offense, which they are in the top 3 in fastbreak points, as well as total points.

Thats cause Detroit trys to get there whole lineup into the game, not just usally 2 or 3. Pistons are trying to develop there bench more.

Now, I know I know, rings don't matter for more of "non-stars" like these guys, but I think the two are SO CLOSE in comparasion, that it comes down to NBA rings...so Prince gets the edge here. I like both of them, but that was the tie breaker. Pricne is a winner...completely at teh NBA level..

But think of it this way: When has Caron ever had a chance to play for a ring? He was traded to Los Angeles pre-Shaq, and LA was terrible that season; traded to us here in Washington, and we're starting to show signs of great play from players all around on the court. We should all re-open this discussion in a couple of years, and then talk.

I would take Tayshaun over Caron. I think that Caron's stats are better than Prince's because first of all, he plays more and he takes more shots, and second of all, he is the 2nd scoring option on his team....Of course he is going to score more. If Caron was on the Pistons team, he wouldnt be averaging more than 15 or 16 points per game. I think that Tayshaun has so much more to offer as a player. He can guard guys that are bigger than him in the post, but he can also go out to the perimeter and guard players as well. On the offensive end, he can shoot the 3 ball, he can shoot the mid range, he can take you to the basket, or he can post you up and score. While I still think Caron is the better "natural scorer", I think that Tayshaun is just as good on the offensive end. If that makes any sense what so ever....I just think that the gap between Tayshaun's and Caron's defense is bigger than the gap between their offense.

Not taking anything from Tayshaun, but if he was on a team like the Spurs, or Heat, he would be moreso called a roleplayer more than anything. Why? There are bigger stars on those teams. He's recognized as a Pistons player, I think, because their number one base is the team ball, all 5 get touches system, where the whole team is recognized as a player as a whole, IMO. He's one hell of a player, but I don't think he'd do nearly as good on a team like the Spurs, Magic, or Heat (with a 100% healthy, yet broken down Shaq) as such.

Caron for sure! Aside from his length Prince has nothing on him. Caron's D is right up there with Prince's and Caron is much much much much stronger. Caron is a better offensive player and equal on D, so Caron hands donwn. If Prince didn't have his size and length this topic wouldn't even exist.

I of course will take Tayshaun, who has improved his stats in every season he's played.Caron Butler is a pretty good player too, but this is how I'll break it down.OFFENSE: Butler is a good shooter, makes plays, and gets inside. and he scored in bunches.Tayshaun uses those long arms to drive inside and get nice dunks or layups, and he hits threes. he knows how to play good aggresive offense with his tall-lanky build without getting hurt(he's on a 223-game-or-so starting streak). His jumpshot form might be one of the funkiest looking things youve ever seen in your life, but he knows how to make it work very efficiently. The only reason his stats arent as good as Butlers on the offensive end is because he is the fourth option offensively and Butlers is third or even second at times behind Gil-0 and/or Jamison.Advantage: I cant say none, but stats dont lie, sorry Tay, [BUTLER]Defense: Butler at times can cause you alot of trouble when your trying to get to the hole and he forces alot of jump shots, but this his where Tayshaun's long arms primarily come in. As someone said before, he has put the leagues best players in lockdown. they include D-Wade, T-MAC, LeBron(sometimes), and most importantly Kobe('04 Finals anyone?). he also gets up and blocks alot of shots.Easy Advantage for the Palace Prince.Overall: well Tay is a newly assigned Capitain for the Pistons, and that's proof of leadership on and off the court. he is one of the best overall players in the league. and deserves to be an all star in the near future if not now. and he has a Title in which he did play a big part in getting.I choose Tayshaun Prince.

Caron Butler is 1 of ONLY 2 guys averaging 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3.5 assists. The other, you may have heard of him, Kevin Garnett.Tayshaun can't compete with that.

Tayshaun already has a ring, and he was 12 minutes away from a second one. and he is already a co-capitain for the team. I think when he makes an all-star team, he'll complete his career bio about 10 years early.but he's already proven himself by doing what he has already done so far.dont get me wrong, Caron Butler is a great player, but he cant compete with a ring.numbers dont tell the whole story guys.
