Just to be clear, my choice to dump Girardi is not solely based on my dislike for him, or that I could even think of someone who could do better, I just think its time for a change, I mean I could be wrong but it just doesn't seem like he's doing enough to get these guys going, as if they've just given up on him. I think some new blood is needed to light a fire under these over- paid prima Donna's. JMO.

XenForo Polls don't work that way, or at least not nearly as easily as the way you currently have it set up. :P

Not able to; maximum number of permitted selectable poll answers is 10; quite a bit less than your list. :(

You can narrow the list down by eliminating free agents as they wouldn't have any need to be dumped. So Drew, Ryan, Chris Young and Capuano all hit the free agent market once the season ends.

Or perhaps Joe has given up on this gang of overpaid misfits, who refuse to give 100%, lacking the 'self-discipline' to better themselves. Sparky Anderson said: - (during an Angels Broadcast when Torre called the games, and Sparky was a guest, said: "Don Mattingly, is the best example for kids in this sport, because when the crowds have gone home, Donnie comes back out of the Clubhouse and has a Coach hit 100-200 ground balls to him."
"Don's approach to self-discipline to execute the fundamentals; practicing over and over, when no one else was doing the same, makes Him the perfect example for Kids who want to play this game at this level." (I've got that old game on VHS). - Now that is Self Discipline beyond, and this team lacks that approach.

or perhaps neither has given up on the other, rather this is not a well constructed team at all.

We all know Trashcan is a big problem, and part of a "Plan" that never materialized, call for His head on a Silver Platter.....

as for Joe, there is no doubt He can Manage a winner. If I were in Joe's shoes, I'd be asking myself, why in the hell am I hanging around, to try to create a Team, that is shoddily put together, and the Boys upstairs, have only provided a pile of shit. It shows on the Field, in lackluster performances. More-so, than any thing Joe's disposition, did or didn't do, in games, IMHO.

Sure this Team needs a fire lit under their ass. I'd bet Joe has more than lit a numerous fires under their asses, in the clubhouse, yet Joe remains cool in the dugout, which is what a Good Mgr, will do. If the Team senses despair, anger, they will reflect as a non-memorable Team will do in this ugly age/era. Grown Men shouldn't have to be brow beat, esp rich ones. This entire Team needs to light a fire in the dugout, under everyone's ass......

So much like the workplace. In the old days, Mgr's too often tore apart those they managed in broad daylight and public. (It doesn't seem that long ago, tho' it was). That is not a proper approach at all; and a Mgr will not get the desired results he's looking for. Fires lit, scalding words, are only effective these days, behind closed doors......

This is a new era for MLB, and the Yanx. No more days of Billy Martin's, Dick Williams, Earl Weaver, Lou Pinella, and several others, who would blow their lids, and that was ok in that era. With a new age, comes a new approach. One can catch more critters with Honey than they can Vinegar. These kids are spoiled beyond belief, and it shows....Fat-(wallets), dumb and happy with mediocrity......!!!

WE DO NOT know what goes on behind the scenes, and is not privy to or accessible to reporters.....

Even a Drill Sergeant type Mgr would only bring this team down further. It has little to do about 'tough love', these are not kids, most are millionaires, and over paid, with bad contracts, who think they can do what they want, which leads to a Mgr's downfall, and the very players who aren't hustling 100% of the time, skate free. That is the blame of Admin, Hank and Trashcan......this team needs new blood alright Up-Stairs......

just saying.....Over the last 20 years, Mgmt training in all aspects of business; including MLB et al, have found the old approach is no longer applicable to the game we see today, (again, IMHO). Unless its a full contact sport; ie NFL, NCAA-FB, NHL, Boxing, et al.

Rob its obvious that there is something seriously wrong here & something missing & God knows that there is enough blame to go around. And as I mentioned before, no one knows what goes on in the club house & to repeat myself, I don't think Weaver, Martin, Anderson & Stengel all rolled into one, could motivate this group of over paid misfits. The blame goes from the Steiners to Girardi & everyone in between. This group just doesn't seem to be clicking & this thing called chemistry seems to have gone straight out the window. Now where exactly the changes need to come from I have no idea, I just think its obvious at this point that this group just isn't working together enough to put a winning product on the field. And maybe & I'm just guessing here Joe has become more of a friend than a manager. JMO.

...some of the contracts are pretty much unmovable and who knows whether the Steins would be willing to eat some salary money or not, and if so how much?

... as far as getting something of value from another team in return that might help the Yanx, the only player I realistically see that could be traded and fill a needed hole on another team is Gardner...when compared to the other Yanx contracts, Gardner's would probably be the most agreeable to other teams.

...the Yanx also have quite a few young trade chips that might be package to get another team to agree to take on one of the Yanx least desirable players/contracts...of course, most of them would require that NTCs would have to be waved.

One of the young players that the Yankees may have to make a decision on is Sanchez since I really don't see him getting any kind of a chance with McCann a fixture for several more years & Murphy as his apparent backup. So with that in mind maybe a package of Sanchez & Gardner the Yankees could swing a good deal for a solid starter.

^^^ oh yeah, that would certainly be attractive to another team, but what I have in mind is getting that team to also take another Yanx player in the package...you know, one of the guys that are either blocking the advancement of one of the kids from the farm or will be in their last year of their contract with the Yanx...Tex, Beltran, CC, for example.
...the Sox were able to jettison some of their refuse in a package to the Dodgers a couple of years ago...don't see why the Yanx can't do the same.

Ron I think its going to be very difficult to move Teixeira because he's become very injury prone & of course because of his NTC. CC will be near impossible to move especially now with his recent woes. Beltran might be the easiest to move among the 3 if an AL team is looking for a solid DH.

I would have thought the same thing about what Boston pulled off...but it happened.

...and I think packaging Garder/Sanchez/Tex is a sweeter deal than Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto...other than AGon, the others players didn't really benefit the Dodgers.

...GMs make bad moves out of desperation all the time...maybe the Yanx can find one out there to bail them out.

Tex can only be moved to an AL team at this stage, that's the problem with that bundle. If you move Gardner, I see him killing it in the NL.

Sadly though our GM is not smart enough to make such a package
