This guy is a complete idiot. Picks the Rangers to finish fourth in the division. Funny stuff. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/13664581/2015-16-nhl-season-preview-new-york-rangers
He's clueless. He says the production from Krieder, Fast, and Miller is unknown? Was he watching the playoffs last year! Kreider is going atleast 30g-30a this year
He also thinks Torts should lead team USA. We know the Rangers have a good club. No, that doesn't guarantee a place in the standings. We will have to see how it plays out.
I'm not sure where we'll finish, but it isn't crazy to say 4th and make the playoffs as a WC. The Caps, BJ's, and Pens all improved. The Isles are tough. So we play in a real tough division. On top of that I do believe we will have a step back in the regular season after the PT last season, and honestly I am fine with that. I actually think it can be a plus come playoff time. Gun to my head I will say 3rd in the Met, but I don't think it is crazy to say 4th and a WC spot, which would be fine with me.
I always felt this year's team will not be a top tier team in the regular season. In the Eastern Conference they should be the 5th or 6th best team. Come playoffs I really see this team as a threat. No more Governor's Cup bullshit. It killed them last year.
This team is light years better than Columbus and the Islanders. Kessel isn't putting the Pens over the top either
Rangers open season at Blackhawks(SC winners) and back-to-back with a much improved Blue Jackets. Has anyone seen what the final roster looks like?
Call me a homer but I don't see anything the other teams did that would leapfrog them past the Rangers and Hank. I'd be fine with AV not pressing the defense and getting the top 2 lines more rest to finish 2nd or 3rd. I think this year's team is better than last year's, Hags and MSL gone but I think Zucc/Nash/Stepan and CK/Brass/JT is an improvement. McIlrath brings a new dimension to the Rangers on defense. Good times to be a Ranger fan.
I can see the Isles and Wash edging them in points but i think they are definately better than CLB and Pittsburgh.
He has the Rangers 13th in his Power Rankings heading into the season. 4th in the Met and 6th in the East: Yeah, we know, the Rangers were the Presidents' Trophy winners and conference finalists. Still, I'm just not sure about the depth up front with Carl Hagelin and Martin St. Louis gone and Mats Zuccarello coming off injury. The Rangers should still be a playoff team, but I'm just not overwhelmed by their ability to repeat in the East. Personally I like it. To me this is perfect for us. Everyone loves the Caps (4th) and Pens (6th) especially, "experts" always love the Pens, and everyone likes the BJ's (9th) as well. So let us lie in waiting and do what we need to do in the playoffs.
What else can be said about this moron. He picks Montreal, Minnesota, Calgary, the BJs ahead of the Rangers. Pitt should be nowhere near the top ten. Chicago lost like half of their top six and still picks them as a number one team. Plus who knows if Kane plays this season. If he is basing his power rankings just solely on the last season then why aren't' the Rangers in top 5 to start the season? Anyway, who gives a shit about his power rankings.
Another crap start to a season for Columbus. Not that there's not plenty of time to turn things around but I'm tired of hearing about how great that team is going to be.
