It's my son's bag. It was left on the window sill right where we did the raffle and spoke to Mike & Bill Schonely. We discovered it was gone at the end of the 4th quarter. We came up there and asked for it. A rather rude lady told me it was in guest services. I went down to get it and described it to the lady there. She said somebody was "coming to talk to me about it". That's when I noticed the 2 box cutter shaped slices. I tried futilly to explain the amount of vetting done to bring the bag in in the first place and inquired as to why none the many zippers were used to open the bag. The cuts weren't even big enough to see the entire contents... That's when he basically said tough titty and gave me his bomb line...
Oh, so was it sitting there for most of the game? I guess on the one hand it's good that nobody stole it.
one thing that doesn't make sense.... So they don't use the zippers because it could set the "Bomb" off, but box cutter can cut right through the interior contents potentially setting the "bomb" off. Doesn't add up to me... Dviss, I didn't know you moonlighted...
IDK what the bomb protocol is, but don't they have metal detectors at the RG? Also, I quick check to see how much it weighs would have been super easy. I dont know, seems a bit much to freaking slice open someones bag after it got 'screened' in. I suppose you can never be to careful, but compensation given to DVISS would be my expectation, at least in like a ticket to a game or some food voucher....a simple mistake like that shouldn't be punished so severely...
I think Dviss should have a pair of season club tickets, and since it is my thought, he will take me to the games.
Yea it was unfortunate, I feel bad for not making sure he grabbed it because I remember seeing it sitting there along the Pines windows. Eastoff, Dviss, his son, my friend and I were busy chatting it up NBA officiating. We were really getting into it. Then the players came out for warm-ups and we rushed outta there to go find our seats.
Nothing was stolen? I'd chalk it up as a loss and buy a new bag. Next time don't leave it unattended. Good learning lesson for your son. This day in age with all the crazy ass bombers out there, security at places with major crowds are going to suspicious of unattended bags. I'm not trying to be a dick, but times have changed. Even in the last 5 years. Command Center at the Moda have cameras everywhere. People watching those cameras at all times. I'm willing to bet someone caught it on there. Got the PD involved. The command center doesn't have bomb sniffing dogs.
You can use those cameras to see it was a kids pack too. Im sure terrorists use kids too but if we've become this paranoid the terrorists have already won.
