He flies you down to San Diego once a year and allows you to cut his lawn so you can have a "vacation"?

Look no further than one Luis Montero (after at least another year of seasoning)

Seeing how Montero hasn't been seeing any time in preseason I think its safe to say he can put 'inactive on his drivers license'. Cliff Alexander? I'm not so sure. I think Henderson will be the other inactive for a while, and here are some candidates I wouldn't be surprised to see take his place: Kaman will probably fill this role some nights. It will be interesting to see how Alexander fits in when he comes back which shouldn't be too much longer. Frazier might see some time on the inactive list as well.

I'm really not sure Connaughton will find himself out of the rotation. I kind of get that scrappy get after it vibe that Wes. I feel like Connaughton could make a name for himself as a Dellavadova type player who you hate to play against. Patty C is far more athletic than Delly is though, and probably a better shooter too. Gonna be interesting to see how his game develops.

Frazier will probably find himself out of the rotation unless Dame/CJ are in foul trouble. I suspect Kaman will probably play specialized minutes in certain situations. Probably in games where the score is close and we are having trouble getting anything going inside. Other than that I think you are right, for more games than not he will be out of the rotation.

Great assessment, outside of the aforementioned differences I think you are spot on!

I think all agree Johnson's gone but the debate rages on (sounds a little extreme ) about Pressey or Montero. Well... rumor is that Perry Jones might b let go by the Celtics... I've mentioned going after this guy before in here, he fits the Neil M.O.! Talk about upside... I'd run w/ him over Montero's potential any day; let's make that day TODAY (IF he's released oooofff course:wink:)! So IF the opportunity is there... let's get rid of Johnson AND BOTH Pressey & Montero to bring in Jones on the cheap!:smiley-yes:

Anybody know if the date teams must have rosters to 15 is the day of the NBA's first regular season games? Or is an earlier date?

I'd cut Omari, Phil and Luis.

Cliff is inactive along with Gerald, or whoever is injured. When Gerald comes back Pat is inactive.

My guess is the cuts will be made tomorrow (Friday) when the team returns to Portland from their LA road trip.

Nets - waived Ryan Boatright and Quincy Miller (Miller had so much potential before his injury in college)

Lakers - waived Robert Upshaw (last years leader in Blocks at 4.4 bpg)

Johnson for sure and properly pressey. But I Neil will look at the waiver wire to see if someone will fit for this team.

I put this in another thread, but apparently Upshaw was not willing to put in the extra work to get better. He had a poor understanding of the offense and would never stay after practice was over to work on it.

Not a good sign for a rookie. I can see why he went undrafted. As we know the draft is a crap shoot because all these guys are so young and inexperienced. Unfortunately it is necessary to draft on potential, but if the player does not show the desire to want to get better........move on to the next guy.

I'm still waiting on a decent explanation as to why we would keep Pressey over Montero. I get that Pressey has played in the game a bit and is more "seasoned"... But what exactly does that gain us? If we get to the Point where a 4th string PG is playing any kind of regular minutes then we are probably talking about a situation where Pressey helps us win 22 games on the season instead of 20... If that. Pressey is what he will be. Montero is untapped. In reality neither of us help us win squat this year.... And it looks like winning squat isn't our main priority anyway.
