Hey, I'm in favor of keeping the project too. But the Lakers just waived Robert Upshaw in favor of keeping Sacre, so you never can tell.
A thread about Luis Montero made it to 2 pages (if you're using 20 replies/page, like cool people do.) Riverman, you know what to do now.
Montero needs to stay. Unique skills. Very raw, I'll admit, but great handles. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
He has some unique skills for his size but hasn't adjusted to using them at anything near this level. I think they keep him and he practices against NBA caliber talent all season with a couple of trips to the D-League and see what they have at the end of the season. Perfect opportunity to take a flyer on a guy for the #15 spot.
Speaking of D-League, does anyone know how it works for us since we are one of 11 NBA teams without an affiliate in the D-League?
I believe we are using one that other non D league affiliated teams share..maybe Rio Grande? Not sure which one..it's not Idaho though if I'm not mistaken.
So do we share one D-League team with those 10 other NBA teams? Surely that means we can't just send players down whenever we want for however long we want, right? It makes me think that Montero wouldn't be able to get much time in the D-League.
jlprk knows the rules I think..you can send a player so many times a season to the affiliate D league team ..I forget how it works
not an apples to apples comparison. The Lakers are still rolling out Kobe and added World Peace to their roster... aka they have some delusional concept that they are a good team, and so go for reliable experience over red flag talent.
