We have more talent than last year. Dame is a true leader with Aldridge out of the way. Kaman is a great teacher and leader off the bench. CJ and Leonard are lottery picks ready to explode this season. Vonleh is a lottery pick who can contribute NOW and has All Star potential in the future. We only have two rookies so most everyone on the team, with the exception of Vonleh, has been there done that. Most talented team we've had since 2000.
Not an awful roster but there were like 10 or 11 surgeries that year so we never got to see them play together.
We have more talent than last year.-HELL NO! Dame is a true leader with Aldridge out of the way.-Yes Kaman is a great teacher and leader off the bench.-Yes, but will be gone by mid season CJ and Leonard are lottery picks ready to explode this season.-I'd like to see that, CJ will for sure. Vonleh is a lottery pick who can contribute NOW and has All Star potential in the future.-Not quite ready to help yet We only have two rookies so most everyone on the team, with the exception of Vonleh, has been there done that.-Too young Most talented team we've had since 2000.-09-10 team had 3 times the amount of talent we do now, maybe four times!
That's not an exaggeration either. All of these people had surgeries that season: Oden Joel (twice) McMillan Rudy Outlaw Roy (twice) Mills Pendergraph Batum
Definitely the talent was there but so across the board hobbled, it was hard to tell. They never played together. Most of the time, it was just the Bayless/Howard show with Cunningham coming off the bench. No joke!
Thought we were just going with talent on the roster. Jinx, the 8-12 guys on that roster could start for us this year...... at least acknowledge that bro. That list has like 20 guys on it, because thats everybody that was on the roster that season, but I counted 12 guys that could start for us over what we have today.
In terms of making a deep run -this- year (which is the way I took the OP implicitly) yes. In a couple years? I'll probably be on that optimism train with you, brother.
