When they offer you that sweet sweet $32,000/year, be sure to hesitate before screaming "YES YES YES!"

But think of all the fun I would have flipping Sly the bird while walking into the locker room as he forlornly sits in the press room, alone and forgotten :devilwink:

And I heard that CNNW cut a deal with the Blazers and he's going to be riding on the team plane with you.

Reading Jabari's articles is a great way to get to sleep if you have trouble dozing off at night.

So dry. Is he not going to touch on LMA pushing 300 lbs? His playing weight his last two years in Portland was 270-275 lbs. This is the first time in his career/ever that he's been fat.

Jabari spent more time talking about the spurs than the blazers so I'm glad he fucked off.

I'm glad to see this thread. I started following Jabari on Twitter after Haynes left. He and I had a few "conversations" on Twitter and for that I thank him. He didn't need to ever address me. However, from day one I could tell Jabari's time here was going to be very short lived. For some reason I was strangely interested in him and his perception of Portland. What I gathered from closely following him is he absolutely hated it here and was uncomfortable with how many white people live here. I tried to tell him to move out of fucking Beaverton but he proclaimed how much he enjoyed how "quiet" it was......then one day later complain how there's nothing to do in Portland. Very annoying to me. For whatever reason I believe he knew he was a short term rental. Take it for what you will.

I know Quick is generally loathed in these parts but I'll take him and his understanding of this area and team over some borderline reverse racist out of towner

Jabari isn't a reverse racist, he's just racist. What's scary is he actually tried to hide it but it still came out in almost everything he said.

Interesting post. I followed him on twitter too and talked to him a couple of times at games. He wasn't happy here. I also heard from a good source that he was a giant douche to employees under him. Huge ego.

I was trying to give it the light touch but yes.......I totally agree. He could not have been a worse fit for this market and I believe he knew it. Really makes me wonder.....

I actually preferred Haynes to Jabari. Even though both can barely write at a 9th grade level, Haynes at least seemed a bit more genuine.

I could see it. He was a douche on twitter too to anyone that disagreed with his takes.

Jabari didn't break shit. Haynes actually did at times and seemed to genuinely care abouthis job.

    Jabari sucks at his job.

I was wondering how Young ended up getting the job, and honestly thought it might be some weird affirmative action thing, like replacing a black guy with a black guy. Haynes was great and I'm still disappointed he left (though who can blame him taking on the LBJ and Cavs beat) but Young brought absolutely nothing but a serious 'tude. It seemed like everything he wrote was a regurgitation of what had already been written on the subject. He brought no new information and just seemed to go with the flow, rather than trying to separate himself from the pack. Hate Quick and Jaynes all you want, but at least they make an effort to try and lead the journalistic pack, and they try to buttress their stories with relevant information. Jabari Young was the epitome of a lazy hack.
