Yep. $525,093 for this year if he makes the team. Non-guaranteed next year. I doubt money is the issue though for this year. The Blazers are so far under the team minimum salary, I think if they see a player with more long term potential, they'd cut Montero. I just don't think Boatright is the guy.
Exactly. I don't see a guy coming along that would meet that criteria - you kinda have to like Montero's potential, even if he seems like a long shot. I could see Portland feeling the same with this roster and making a promise that they'll keep him. If Portland were to go after a player of Boatright's level, I'd expect he's replacing Frazier and Pressy. Especially after naming CJ the backup PG. Tells me that the third PG is interchangeable and wide open.
Neither Frazier or pressey have impressed so it shouldn't be surprising that neil might be on the lookout for another PG. Don't know what it has to do with Montero.
