The Mets first home game won't be until next Friday & the cheapest seats on secondary-ticket sites are already listing for more than $800.00. Way more than the $100.00 face value for season ticket holder. And the AVERAGE secondary-market price of Mets home world series games is $1,667.00, which is currently the highest ever tracked by TiqIQ.com which monitors the ticket-resale market.

I guess the days of admiring young fans saving enough allowance money or paper route money to see a baseball game are long over.

...lol...oh yeah, I think we're way past that...hell, I'd imagine a lot of ticket buyers will actually go into debt during the PS...(putting ticket purchases on their charge cards, and spending the next year or so paying it off)...how smart is that?

Typical "Mets" - slogans, gimmicks...i.e. multi colored uniforms, dynaMets where kids are allowed to run the bases prior or after a game, ect....while the franchise struggled for respectability with a modest big city payroll for years......and finally lowering the boom with huge ticket price raises as the Wilpons finally have a WS team after 15 years with a "good" chance for the franchise to win it's first WS since '86.
Look for astronomical reg season ticket price raises.

Last I checked, TV was essentially free. For those that want to fork out a car/rent/mortgage payment for a rare and limited live event....go for it. It's capitalism at its finest.

Put it this way, I want a Ferrari and a beach house.... It's not gonna do me much good bitching about the msrp. Unfortunately, sporting events have entered that rarified air of privileged attendance.

46" inches? Don't hurt you eyes sitting too close to that tiny screen.

...^^^well, that depends on how close an individual normally sits from the TV...bigger is not always better.

MLB no longer has players, they only have "commodities"......

Exactly my friend. If people in New York are willing to pay it that's what the market reflects.
