"Something something only fan since 2012, something something bandwagon, something something you suck."

That's true, not many other teams CAN boast about losing 66% of their super bowl appearances. Rare air indeed.
No, that's not it. There are tons of bandwagon fans across every sport. I honestly don't care about that. I can't stand Seahawk fans because they are honestly the only pro sports fans that I know who worship themselves. I don't see Seahawk flags. I see "12" flags. Seahawk fans are so in love with themselves that I don't think they even care about the team. They're too in love with how great they are as fans.
Super bowls are for winning. I'm sure bills fans back in the day were happy with their participation trophies too. "Who else can say they went to 4 straight super bowls!"
Lot of pride in being a noise factor, that's about it. Plus Seattle doesn't have much more than the Seahawks.. The marniers are at least trending up kinda... Hopefully... At least.
I am surprised the super bowl loss left such a hangover but I still see them making a run at the playoffs. Probably finish 10-6.
But there's people in Portland with "12" shit all over the place. I'm sure a lot of them have never been to a game. It's trendy bullshit. Every team does the "6th man" or "12th man" garbage. It's just that you guys ran with it to the point of over saturation.
Eh, it's whatever to me. It just symbolizes team pride imo. I'm not gonna go buy a jersey with a 12 and fan as the number/name but I'm not gonna criticize someone else for doing it. Honestly the 12s thing is like the 49ers annual "quest for six" stuff to me. Just a fan thing.
The Quest for Six thing is a little pathetic at this point. I'm so pissed at fucking Jed York that I can't even stomach the team right now.
C'mon...you guys gotta realize that this isn't abnormal. Think about it in terms of the geographic northwest. Most of the country - despite the seahawks' recent success - thinks the pacific northwest is some kind of space ship crash-landed in the woods. It's true they haven't traditionally been good, but so what?... Every team is bound to eventually go through at least a semi-successful phase or better. Just the law of averages. As a result, some fans will do what they will even if it's annoying to others. Personally, I'm aware that the whole "12th man" thing originated in Austin, TX (iirc)...not Seattle. There are still plenty of seahawks fans who've been there from day 1. I can attest to this, having grown up in Pierce and King county. I went to my first seahawks game in December 1991. It's easy to say that they just recently garnered fans, but what about Blazers fans who might not have been on board until recently? Are you gonna reject them just bc of recent success?
I can't even stomach Jed York and I hate the 49ers... I should love him for ruining you... But I miss competing against a good 49ers team, I want the hate to feel right lol
No thanks on the pacific Nw thing. Seattle can eat a big fat bag of dicks. I hate those aasholes. I will never root for a Seattle team
Portland and Seattle have had a rivalry going back to the founding of the two cities. We hate the Huskies and we hated the Sonics, so I honestly have no idea how people from Portland can root for that team. It goes against everything I was raised to believe as an Oregonian. They are our rivals.
It's true. Seattle sucks. I hate them. I never want to see those assholes win. But it's also engrained in us to hate California. But it's different imo. I hate all Californians, but I don't really care about hating their teams (I'm a raiders fan afterall). But I hate the huskies, I hate the Sonics (loved Payton though cause osu), Seahawks, mariners etc. For fucks sake, I was a 7 year old at a raiders seahawks game and drunken asshole seahawk fans were talking shit to me
