This takes my breath away. Diagnosed in June, gone in October? Jesus Christ. Reminder that this can happen to any of us. Scary. RIP Flip.
McHale hired his friend 20 years ago. Like everyone associated with the Wolves, Saunders was seen as incompetent, but later he became known as an average NBA coach. He leapt from the bottom, the Wizards firing him, to the top, becoming Timberwolves President, in 16 months. Then he died. http://prosportstransactions.com/ba...ndDate=&PlayerMovementChkBx=yes&Submit=Search http://prosportstransactions.com/ba...ndDate=&PlayerMovementChkBx=yes&Submit=Search
Both my father and grandmother had similar quick declines (four years apart); seemingly healthy, diagnosed with cancer in November, then gone within a week of New Year's. Can never take a loved one's health for granted.
Kevin Garnett just sitting in Flip's parking space: Say what you like about KG, but he's loyal to his friends and the death of Malik Sealy really devastated him.
