Rubio is polarizing. Lillard is not. Can there be 23 pages about Lillard? Unless he falls off the map or gives reason to, not yet.
Beat me to it. This isn't 23 pages of Blazers fans praising Licky Lubio and wishing we could trade Lillard for him. Quite the opposite. Anything that generates argument generates hits, posts, and pages. Not much to argue about with Lillard.
That, and the fact is that Lillard is a Blazer, Rubio is not - this is pretty simple, but it's a big part of why the thread exists and why it continues. Of course, posts by lame-ass TimberTrolls helped inflate the post count.
I believe this thread was created for the sole purpose of trolling the Minnesota Trolls and a few of the fans here who like/liked Rubio.
That, and people bumpng a 7-month old thread when Rubio finally has a game where he shoots above 25%. Shit, Lillard gets talked about in every game thread and most threads related to the team, the roster, the future, etc. His name gets mentioned several orders of magnitude more than Rubio's here, it's just that all the Rubio opinions, pro and con are in this one thread. Opinions on Lillard are spread across hundreds of threads. BNM
To take it a step further, Lillard goes 1-15 and there isn't a huge thread about it, where Rubio goes above 25% once, and it re-bumps a thread. I like Rubio's game, but his shot...
Yep, it's like I said earlier in this thread, Lillard is a good shooter who occasionally has a horrible shooting night. Rubio is a horrible shooter who occasionally has a good shooting night. BNM
Yeah, I thought I was making that point by making the simple statement that one player is a Blazer, the other is not. All Blazers players are talked about through several threads, as opposed to opponents, where they are mentioned in a game thread, and sometimes a specific player or team gets their own thread. I think the Rubio thread was the offspring of being raided by the TimberTrolls, and their incessant bashing of Lillard while hailing Rubio as the second coming of Jesus. I like when a player or team accomplishes something a couple times out of the norm, and we bump old threads to beat our chest (even though the bumping of the thread is usually unnecessary and ridiculous).
I don't understand why KS would bump this thread, he was one of the posters saying Rubio was garbage (worse than Sergio). What am I missing?
Blame the refs all you want but Rubio is dominating Lillard. For the season he's on pace for the worst shooting performance in modern NBA history -- 21 pts on 50% shooting so far.
Congrats to Rubio. For one night, he isn't the most overrated player in NBA history (though he owes the refs some flowers or something). Not. Swayed.
