    Here is some Trivia, and a hint for all 3 Questions. Non of these players were Yankees.

    Non-Yankee Legends


    1- As a Pitcher in College, He had a record of 50 Wins and 0 Losses. Like Ruth He began His MLB Career as a Southpaw Pitcher, for an abbreviated short time. 2 of his 5 MLB Pitching wins, were 1-0 and 2-1 Decisions over Walter Johnson. His Hitting ability and prowess mandated conversion to a everyday position, becoming a 1st baseman with more assists: (1,528) than any other 1st baseman. He hit .400+ two times. He had 257 Hits in a single season . A Lifetime .340 Hitter.


    2- A ROY, by hitting .354 during an abbreviated season. Won 3 HR titles in the NL. He led the league in slugging 3 times, RBI's twice. His best single season: .320 B'avg, 126 RBI's, .656 Slugging Pctg., 101 Runs, 121 Walks, 45 walks were Intentional, a Year that would garner Him the MVP Award . His final at bat in a World Series Game 7 vs the Yankees, was a screaming line drive headed to RF, but instead was caught by Bobby Richardson at 2nd base; which came inches of delivering the tying and winning runs, as a man on 3rd and 2nd broke too the plate. The Yanks won the Series and game 1-0.


    3- One of 3 men to ever win the MVP for 2 different positions. His single season high for HR”s was 58. As a 24 Year old, he hit 36 HR's, with 170 RBI's. And a .328 Batting Avg, with 121 Runs; enabling his Team to Win the AL Pennant. 5 years later, he had 150 RBI's, 41 HR's, with a .340 Batting Avg. Spent 4 years in WWII Service, returning in time to hit a Grand Slam that would give His Team the AL Pennant.

    The first two are easy, George Sisler because I remember when Ichiro broke his record. And number 2, how could I not know this being a huge fan. Nick named "Stretch".

    #3 is tough but only a few players ever hit 58 HRs in a season. Two that come to mind are Foxx & Greenberg so on this one I'll go with Hank Greenberg.

    You got all 3, I figured you'd get #2 with ease, and yes, #1 was a dead give away also. I forgot to mention Greenberg was born in da Bronx....

    Missing all or part of 5 years due to military service in the prime of his career he certainly would have ended up with very impressive numbers.

    and without doubt, the Giant in size and Team, was one of it not The Most Feared Hitter in the NL......

    I'm not kidding, when I say, I saw McCovey hit (2 HR's in a game, a solo shot, and Granny) with one of those HR's landing on the moon, before Neil Armstrong did.

    A visceral, could you imagine Armstrong finding a MLB baseball, instead of a bunch of rocks....?
