Who's the better player right now, who would you rather have on your team right now and in the future? I'll post my thoughts later cause I have to head out.
Andris Biendris. He has really improved this year and he is showing that he is not a European bust. Biendris is a better defender and shooter. I never liked Al Jefferson's game. Al Jefferson is slow while Biendris can run the floor.Biendris is almost averaging double figures in both points and reboundsPG 11.0 RPG 9.40 I would rather have Biendris but Jefferson is playing well his last 3 games with 18, 16 and 10 points with like 14 and 15 rebounds.
Well Andris Biedrins is obviously better right now. He is a monster on the boards, and he has some good touch downlow. He's also a monster shot blocker, and a defensive presense. Al has not shown that much at all. He has shown a few good moves in the post, but really hasn't shown much at all really. I don't know how Al will develop, so I'm not sure who I'd take in the future. But if I had the choice of the two for this season, without a doubt I'd pick Biedrins.

It's tough, because sometimes Biedrins will play like an absolute beast, yet at times offesively he's very timid. I think without question Biedrins will be the better rebounder and shotblocker, but Jefferson will have the advantage on the blocks. Jefferson could, and I think will eventually be a 1st option on a team. That just won't be the case with biedrins.
IMO Biedrins percentages shooting the ball put him over the top of Al here. Similar rebounding, points, and blocks. Isn't Biedrins shooting something retarded like 65% from the field? He's been a huge surprise, but Al has made leaps and bounds this year too. For the future, I'd take Al, because I think this is the best we will ever see Biedrins. I don't think he'll get worse, I just think he's at his potential right now. But definitely Al for the future.

Everyone here knows that I am a huge Big Al supporter, but I have to take Biedrins right now. He's the much better defensive player, he's just as good a rebounder as Al, he's quicker, and he's more athletic. For the future: we'll see. Both have awesome potential and I believe both of them will be excellent players, but we have to see more. These guys are 20 and 21 years old, both coming out of High School. In even one year, I think it would be reasonable to answer the question, knowing where they stand one year from now. Big Al is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Biedrins offensively, but defensively Biedrins kills Al as well. Defense is what I'd want from a young player as of right now, but down the road... again, who knows?

Biedrins' post moves aren't as good, but he has good touch around the basket. Big Al has shown some good post moves, but he's averaging basically the same # of ppg as Biedrins, so I don't know how you could say that.Being lightyears ahead of of someone offensively would probably mean that you are WAY, WAY, WAY, better offensively than someone else. That would work with Kobe and Adrian Griffin for example, but not for Al and Biedrins.

That's pathetic. You overuse and overrate stats SO MUCH it's not even funny. Besides, if you want to look at stats so badly, look at Al Jefferson's numbers as a starter (13 games, 16.3 ppg, 11.5 rpg). But you must not watch any Celtics games, especially over the last month. Biedrins has a nice touch around the basket, agreed, but he won't give you much in a 1-on-1 back to the basket possession on the block. Al Jefferson has a great amount of offensive moves on the block, and he has been drawing double teams this season (yes, even when Pierce was healthy). Biedrins is not going to draw any double-teams on the offensive block, Al Jefferson does nightly. Biedrins isn't a guy that can take a lot of guys 1 on 1 in the post and actually be a low post scorer. Al Jefferson, 1 on 1, can take a LOT more players 1 on 1 (and score) than he can't. Biedrins will score double digits or whatever, but how many of them are clean up buckets? How many of them are assisted? How many are pick and rolls? Exactly. Al Jefferson is a guy that you can give the ball, clear out, and have him score 15-20 points on a high percentage. Biedrins is NOWHERE NEAR that status, therefore Al Jefferson IS lightyears ahead of Andris Biedrins as an offensive player.
On the warriors I would not want Al Jefferson. But I give Al jefferson the nod cause I think he will develop and be better later. Right now though I'll stick with Andris while he is hot.
