I see the Grizz are interested in Mario Chalmers and Miami may be inclined to trade him. If I thought we could resign him then I would say he would be an upgrade to Frazier. Chalmers IMO is a decent back up PG as he plays tough D http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...ies-discussing-deal-miami-heat-mario-chalmers
seriously? this is a rebuilding/play the young guys year and Chalmers makes no sense with the age of our guys and out best case timeline to win
Generally speaking, I'd agree. However, I don't think Frazier is part of our rebuild, in a long-term sense. If there is a reason not to trade out Frazier for Chalmers, it's if Frazier is part of a short-term rebuilding strategy: Chalmers would actually help us win games in the short term compared to Frazier, lessening the effectiveness of our draft. So...Chalmers is probably not part of our long-term rebuild strategy either.
No I don't want Chalmers for free. We would be better off holding out cap space for another trade. I'd rather not have him here even at Fraziers salary; believing he should play backup PG instead of McCollum. Frazier is happy to be a 3rd guard and finally make a roster. Chalmers wouldn't be. At 29 he has no upside. All our players need to have the chance to increase in value, or be deadweight salary that nets us young talent/picks.
Not a big fan of Chalmers, if only because he played for Miami alongside LeBrainless. I take him over Frazier though, draft position be damned.
Chalmers? No, we're in a rebuild mode now. He doesn't fit. He's not cheap enough. He's not young enough. He's not good enough. Pass. I think our team is looking for starters. We have maybe up to 3 future starters. Still don't know for sure. We want playing time and good development from anyone, but not really wins! We really could use (keeping) our draft pick, especially with it being a lottery pick. Then we need a great signing with our cap space. Who will our best 8 next year? No clue.
I may be alone on an island on this one but....Tony Wroten from Philly is a guy who could fit nicely on this team. Creative passer with enough ball handling to get to the rim. Philly is always a mess and loaded with draft picks. Not sure what it would take to pry him and possibly a draft pick away, but I could see him getting 7 to 10 assists and 10 to 15 points with our team as a backup point for Dame and CJ. Or not. I like Wroten but I think he is still recovering from an ACL (?) PNW players are always cool to me but he is a cheap/high potential player and I think Philly may be smart and keep him.
22 years old. Averaged 16.9 and 5.2 assists And yes he is out with a knee injury until December. Philly did not offer him a contract extension. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
