He played great defense last night before rolling his ankle. Though I do agree that he should be playing C rather than PF.
He and Canzano were waging a war their own little war against the team. People forget that. It was so bad that at one point the Blazers actually pulled all advertising from the Oregonian. That was a big deal back then. Lots of money.
The worst for me was the game "reports". He was supposed to be reporting on the game (no, his job was not "journalist"). Instead, it was all biased opinion and manufactured melodrama, with little to nothing about the actual game. At the same time, his little stoned-on-the-court butt-buddy $amian could do no wrong.
I think Harkless has easily earned more minutes and Leonard deserves less. Meyers has really disappointed but it is only 5 games and he of coruse still deserves a lot more of a chance, he especially needs to get his shot back cause his D is pretty bad especially when Stotts has him playin against PFs quite a bit
Off the bench with Ed Davis playing garbageman PF, Leonard could be a stretch 5 again, pulling idiot backup centers out of the paint.
I agree with this. I just don't see him as a PF like everyone keeps trying to say he is. He is a 5 because he is more a "spot up shooter" without inside game. He can still defend other centers well and rebounds. Forcing him to play 4, and starting for that matter, is a big mistake. Let him score off the bench
I still believe that until Vonleh is ready they need to play Davis more. There are times you need a little beef out there. As for Leonard....can we stop with the "young prospect" stuff? He has been in the league the exact same amount of time as Dame and a year longer than Plumlee. The kid can't play. Time to move on.
Yeah, if he does well off the bench, let's adjust the system to that reality. If he sucks, let's offload him or let him go. We have time, money, and talent already.
I didn't suggest there is anything wrong with that. Simply that they may have had some form of romantic entanglement.
Although I would have liked having Leonard tonight against the Grizz, a few games off might help. We need someone to stretch the floor tonight but if he is still slumping...... it only hurts us. I do think he is pressing. He will eventually be fine. And I he is a stretch 5 not a stretch 4. There are just too many PF now that play on the perimeter for him to cover. LMA had the same issues. (Watching LA trying to cover Beal last night was laughable-why was he in there?) Tonight however is different. Neither Aminu nor Harkless can cover Zach. So Davis will get the assignment and will get in foul trouble. Vonleh will get a nice "learning experience"
I think Aminu could cover Zach. He's not really a power player. He's a quick player. He uses his speed to get around people. I think Aminu could actually do very well against Randolph.
Yeah, write him off after 5 games. Smart. Even though he's been in the league longer than Plumlee he hasn't had a shot until now, where Plumlee was a regular rotation player. Plumlee is also two years older. When he was drafted it was known that he was a multi-year project. This is the last year of that project - to end it 5 games into the year is just dumb. It's that sort of thinking that lead to us getting Harkless.
If you want to win games, you don't start Leonard. If you want to develop talent and boost your lottery chances, you start Leonard.
Starting Harkless over Leonard is still developing talent though (Moe is young). Just give Leonard 24 minutes a game behind Plums and Aminu.
