None of this diatribe of nonsense has to do with the topic of DRAFTING. You brought up alot of aging players and bad contracts for no reason. You for some reason think back into 2009 because they were in Win now mode, that they couldnt have been drafting quality players. Your lack of focus and need to side track off to no mans land is ridiculous, cause you did it TWICE. Fin - Voice of Reason - P.S. most yankee fans were still complaining in 2009.
ho hum... See post #14 And add this to it- Yanks had 87 wins in 2015, a couple of tweaks could very well put them at the top of the division in 2016. The same usual hogwash will always be met by my unbiased clear thinking.
Be careful, he gets very upset & defensive when others (that would be everyone) doesn't agree with him.
Yanks finished with the 4th best record and were defeated in the WC game by a team which won less games in the reg season by virtue of a pitcher (Keuchel) who had the year of his life while Yankee pitching held his team (a high scoring team) to three runs on five hits? 2009 was brought up by me because the large long contracts to "aging" players were gagged up once again - we're talking about Tex, CC and Arod. Yes indeed, they are aging, taking up a lot of payroll and are taking up roster spots which could go to youngsters. So, one more time- Tex and CC were signed in the 2008 off season and along with another big long contract player (Arod) were big contributers. Of course the contracts were long, and at this point only CC has gone into the tank and has given poor production. Tex is nearing the end of his contract and this goes with the territory...can't have it both ways. He was 28 yrs old when the Yanks signed him and he'll be 36 in the 2016 season....not exactly ancient and was producing before he broke a bone in his leg which I don't believe had anything to due with his age or salary. Lmao. I agree the Yanks went much to far with CC in 2015. Drew is now gone and Refsnyder will be the 2b unless he flops. This is Beltran's last year and it's probably right on time for the arrival of Judge who could even make the team in 2016 if he can improve on his weak AAA 2015 performance which wasn't Cashman's fault. Yanks 2009 first round draft choice Heathcott may have already been in LF prior to Beltran if he could've avoided a couple of nagging injuries in his minor league career. And if he stays healthy, he'll be another young player the Yanks will have on the team in 2016 along with Refsnyder, Murphy, Gregorius and Bird. Yanks need a big bat in the outfield, and as of now it looks Gardy is the weak link. My biggest issue with Yankee management and farm directors has been, and is the organization's inability to produce at least ONE top of the rotation youngster. This team is certainly NOT far away from returning to the top of the divison by any stretch. imo
You get upset when I or others don't see things your way all the time.....as you seem to agree with a few here ALL THE TIME.....lol, are you nuts? I subscribe to the Ed Koch proposal. "If you agree with me on 6 or 7 issues out of 10, vote for me".... "If you agree with me on 10 out of 10 issues, see a Psychiatrist" You may need a Psychiatrist when it comes to a couple of other posters on this board...you seem to agree with them 100 out of 100 times...lmao... As for me getting defensive when someone disagrees with me....nope, you're full of baloney...I just respond in kind to replies like yours when you insulted me (your post 15) after admitting you only read the first line of my post (#14) and conveniently avoided addressing the rest of the post. You seem to miss a lot in various posts by others along with making a lot of mistakes in some of your supposed "facts", and also in writing and spelling....lol, that's not that important. No problem. If I didn't know you any better, I would think you're not too bright....but of course you are. Keep up the good work!
And what if no one ever agrees with you? Oh yeah then you just LOL on every post. And I guess my simple question in post #25 was a little to tough for you, no problem, I understand.
I really really hope we've seen the end of both Crap and Drew. I'd have to find a shrink otherwise, and I hear those sessions are costly.....
another pissin' in the wind post.... damn I'm getting tired of hearing this tune ovah and ovah........ next thing ya' know we'll be wearing raincoats........!!~~
You mean THIS same old tune? "now that Cashman's money supply has been cut off, he finds himself in the position of finally having to use his fucking head for a change...something he is obviously unable to do. ...unless some serious restructuring is done, 2016 will be no better than the last few years". _________________ Weren't you proud of me for helping to correct the record by pointing out and including a couple of obvious omissions which kinda helps balance things out a bit with THIS: ....."when Cashman did have to his "fucking head" to fill a couple of holes last offseason, he came through with flying colors with immediate success. Gregorious for Greene. Miller instead of Robertson (for less money and a 1st round pick) Cervelli for Wilson - a very respectable middle reliever, AND opened up a spot for John Ryan Murphy". I know you really want to applaud it and I wouldn't blame you but your allegiances get in the way. Lol....jes kidding... Its all good, all in fun.....after all- we ARE only talking about baseball.
...^^^ I'm still trying to get over the part where you and I are accused of supposedly always agreeing on every topic, which is laughable...someone evidently has not been paying attention. ...and for someone who is notorious for taking thread topics into a different direction, is it just a coincidence that it's the very same person who constantly insists that we're the ones with the problem and we're the ones who should be seeking psychiatric care ? ...post # 19 pretty much says it all.
C'mon Ron what are you some kind of idiot, you couldn't be more wrong. Nothing you said makes any sense I thought..........OOPS! I mean Wow Ron you hit the nail on the head, as usual I agree with you.
...^^^ Now let's get this straight, I don't agree with anyone or anything; on this board, unless my mind is taken over telepathically. However Tote installed an anti-telepathic Fire Wall for my brain, .... and- Since this is a Yanx board (only - supposedly), Rick and I have to go to War over the NL West, ah shit, here we go, chatter other than Yanx....on this board.... "if you and your boss always agree, then one of you is not necessary" (Ken Blanchard) Pass the Cheetos please, ah wait, we don't share our Cheetos either.... and- I am not biased, a racist or prejudiced, cause I used a Icon eating popcorn, different than my own race.......
Stick had the power...."George these aren't the crappy prospects you're looking for..." As for all the albatrosses this roster wears, they need to do cost/opportunity analyses. In the case of ARod buying out his contract and releasing him would ultimately be a net financial gain if replaced by Judge. You only stand to regain lost purist fans, and the team is easier to market, especially for road gate share. Next, you increase opportunity for signing value....prospects, FA's, because a lot of players just don't want the association with the cheater.
Where does the part about Arod and Tex' production being near the top of their positions i. 2015 fit in? Flexibility? Flexibility? If Ellsbury or McCann or Arod or Tex help the Yanks get to and win a WS, the money was worth it. This is MLB, it isn't EASY winning a WS and only one team per year can win it.....the problem could be some Yankee fans think they should win the WS every year and the end of the world is approaching if the team misses the playoffs for a couple of seasons.....but, The Yankees DID have a fair chance to win a game and play a postseason series.....and.......Arod and Tex have already helped the Yanks get to, and win a WS.....case closed..... ...they are now on the end of long contracts.....not the first time a team had to deal with this kind of situation....Yanks will deal with it and move forward and they'll probably have a few (4-6) youngsters on the team in 2016 making contributions which is just about as good as most other teams. Yanks have the resources and are quite capable of juggling a couple of big contracts to older players AND injecting more youth onto the team... TWO of those aging players with big contracts play 1b and DH....not exactly the most athletic positions on the field...they aren't broken down SS or outfielders hurting the team defensively...lmao..... ...thank goodness Derek decided to retire. And if anyone wonders about the plan....it's obvious, imo,.... Yanks CAN and ARE both willing to pay big money AND go with youngsters at other positions. All to do about NOTHING. Yanks will probably win more games in 2016 than they did in 2015.... Yep, I said it...which gives you an indication of what I think about all of this baloney coming from the media.
